I thought Tom only bought 1 cable to connect the dash display AND the controls. Said it was easier to fit than the 2 setups.

I move around the admiral companies at renewal. Diamond, Bell Direct, Admiral and Elephant All owned by teh admiral group, but each time I put the best price in at teh start of the quote and keep getting lower etc :)

I am also considering this unit. (and the 9855 above it). Is £229 the best price for the 9853 and £299 for the 9855?

You can get a roof rack for a 182/172 I know that much. Might be less damaging that a boot hanging rack etc.

For a "cheaper" yet good alternative, some people use the seat mounted mounts. It is an arm that mounts to the headrest poles and positions the camera directly between the front seats giving a great view point. Daipac was making them for around £30-£40 iirc?
