    Austin’s Clio dci 100 Initiale

Maybe its another mount that needs to be replaced also? Mine was really bad so I knew it had to make a difference.

    Austin’s Clio dci 100 Initiale

Early Sunday morning start to do the dogbone mount. It really was easy peasy to do! The judder when pulling away / letting off the accelerator and back on has now gone so it was a job worth doing. The old mount was massively deteriorated so was probably the original one!

Initiale dCi Daily Project (yes, diesel.)

Another cracking update! Good shout on the spare jade alloy, great minds and all that.... Where did you get it from out of interest? The one i bought a few days ago was the only one i could find for sale anywhere online.

Quick update, took me 20 minutes to do... Headlights - they were the standard mess they all seem to go. I have done a headlight correction a couple times before on other clios so knew what i was doing and had the kit in the garage. The kit used was £7 from ebay ages ago and simply consists of 3...

What if its not the key though mate and its a uch/ecu problem? I would then have to buy a full set of everything and relace wouldnt i? This is what i mean. If i could gaurantee the problem is sinply that the 1 key I have is at fault, then i will get a new key programmed and then just get a new...

Diego, i did a night course at college a few years back to learn italian but lost it all as i had no one to speak to lol! You can now become my Italian friend and i can try to learn the language again!

    Austin’s Clio dci 100 Initiale

Need some advice on the key situation... I have just spoke to an auto electrition mobile key guy in my area. He said he can do me a new key cut and coded for £80 each (£70 if I buy 2, which i need as i need one for my 182 also). Anyway, he also said if i supply my own key he will cut and code...

Ah sorry mate, i thought you meant the full floor carpet lol! Yes, those mats are brilliant, i have them in my 182 and will be getting them for the dci too. My local Renault only charge about £22 for them.

    Austin’s Clio dci 100 Initiale

Just had a quick look online and there is a load of options. Even the premium are only around £50 each so makes sense! That means i need 4 now though ha ha!

Im in Durham, right up in the North East. So do you have black carpets in yours? If so do you have any pics so i can see what it looks like? Sure i didnt see any in your thread. You are right, light colour really shows the dirt! These carpets look brown ?

I have a brand new genuine dogbone to go on but do you think it will fit with this having the JR5 box? I just got the standard clio / kangoo mk2 dogone.

    Austin’s Clio dci 100 Initiale

Lol i know what your saying mate. If im honest, and as mentioned above, the lock situation is what worries me the most. Im guessing its the key but then i could get a new one made up and the issue could still be there. If I could be certain it was just the key, then i would be happy to get a new...

    Austin’s Clio dci 100 Initiale

Thats good to know! I had no idea they would be available new and for such a good price. Not sure what a black carpet would look like against the light seats etc... Do you know the part number?

    Austin’s Clio dci 100 Initiale

I didnt plan on it mate. Whats the situation with doing that? Is it fine, and safe to change what they are meant to be? I have been told the current 185 55 15 is a strange size, but this is correct for the wheel.

    Austin’s Clio dci 100 Initiale

I agree with that mate. I have never bought part worns before, and only ever put premium tyres on our cars. I think whats putting me off getting new and decent is not being 100% the car isnt going to have problems. If im honest, its the whole key / lock situation that scares me a little bit...

    Austin’s Clio dci 100 Initiale

Im desperate to give the Initiale a good clean, but the weather is putting me off. The interior is filthy, the carpet needs a wet vac but will have to wait until we have warmer weather or it wount dry out. At the minute im focussing on mechanically getting the car sound. I need 2 front tyres...

Thanks Diego, I read theough your whole thread again last night as its such a good read! I look forward to more of your updates! You still have a bargain in my eyes! Ah right, i didnt realise you wouldnt be able to do that with it being the JR5 box, although in honesty it isnt something i...

    Graham's OCD ph3 DCi sport rep v2

Well im sure you will solve the issues without any difficulty. I would be stuck if that happened to mine, and would have to go to a garage. It needs the major service and i wish i could do it myself but i just simply do not have any experiance of cambelts etc. Oil and filters is as far as my...

Haha! Its a clio enthusiast thing... If i tell someone its rare they just look at me confused and i can see they are just thinking its a 15 year old Clio, what are you talking about!?!? Which tbf is true, but it is cool to have one and know how rare they are.

    Austin’s Clio dci 100 Initiale

Im going to just keep going with it as i want to spend as little as possible. If the barrel gets to a point where it is no longer useable, then i will do that and the locks, with the ecu stuff as a last resort. Do you know what needs changing for the major cambelt service? And what sort of...

I thought the transponder rings were generic, and not specific to a key?
  24. Austin-182

    Austin’s Clio dci 100 Initiale

I would rather not mess around with the uch / ecu, so i agree the best option if anything, would be to just do the barrel, blade and lock / peteol cap. Then get a new key made which im sure you can get for around £60 if not genuine. I think i will keep going as it is for now unless anything...

    Austin’s Clio dci 100 Initiale

Thats the bit i dont understand mate. If you change the barrel, can you just use the metal key part that comes with the barrel, door lock and fuel cap and continue using the current microchip i have in the current key? Or would that not work? If it would work, then i could just get a new key...

    Austin’s Clio dci 100 Initiale

I think i have solved / identified what the strange starting / flashing red imobiler light might be.... I took the chip out of the key to find the microswitch has been fixed with bluetac! As its the only key i have, i didnt want to mess about so put it back in and closed the key. Since then, for...

Also have just managed to fix the issue of the radio not working and requiring the code everytime I start the car. Along with the clock resetting to 00:00 and the interior lights only working when the key is in the ignition. It was a blown fuse! The lights in the door cards are brilliant! Give...

I picked up the service parts and made a start on that. I have changed the pollen filter and air filter. I will do the oil and oil filter tomorrow. I also bought 4x new glow plugs and will be getting a Delphi fuel filter. You can see it has been a while since it was last serviced by the look of...

I decided to see what the egr valve was like and give it a clean. Massive thanks to @Brigsy who pretty much talked me through it step by step via messenger ?? It was straight forward when i understood exactly what i needed to be removing. The valve was covered in thick gunk. The shaft part was...

Interior lights do not activate when unlocking car

PROBLEM SOLVED. IT WAS A BLOWN FUSE. Now interior lights work when unlocking the car, along with the radio working automatically and not needing the code entering each time you start the car, and the clock time doesnt reset itself anymore when turning the engine off.
