Swapped over this morning and the gap is still the same on the passenger side!
Wondering if the fuel tank and spare wheel is adding enough extra weight to make the driver side lower.
Can fit 4 fingers in the passenger side with a slight gap yet only 3 fingers in the driver side haha!
They looked the same at both ends...
Going to swap them over in the morning (as in left over to right side not just flip them upside down) just out of interest, and see if they do the same thing on the other side.
Yea, sounds like it needs changing anyway but the multimeters are cool. Id wanted one for ages and it only cost £8. Good to have for the glow plugs in the future too...
I think its a good price too. Gates kits from motor factors were coming in at the same price!
Theres a really good video on...
Did you test the battery with a multi meter?
Cambelt stuff - i have just ordered it all. Came in at £160 delivered for everything, both full belt kits, waterpump and coolant.
Yes, get some pictures up! Its like a book without pictures in it... boringggg lol.
Yea, they are for the dci though not the 182.
Renault were only £54 but i got these for £35 and thought they would be fine for it. I will see what the replacements are like. As long as they leave the car the same height i dont care.
I remember when fitting them one of them felt smooth and flat at the top/bottom and on the other it was as if the very last bit was poking out so i wonder if that is what is causing ir.
Euros are going to replace but they want an instant exchange so i will have to get the car on axle stands...
Driven it, not far but it has moved. You can see when looking underneath, its that obvious. The gap between each part of the coil is considerably different to the other, mainly at the very bottom and very top.
Has anyone ever known this before?
I replaced both rear springs on the clio and the arch gap difference is massive on both sides!
Both part number the same but one of the boxes looked a lot older than the other, and the batch/delivery date numbers are way out from each other!
What a pain as...
So true Diego!
Most of the above list would be something needed anyway on any car. So even if i had found one for 6-700, I would have still have spent almost the same as I have on this.
The only thing i might have got away with needing to do would be the key and barrel etc, plus the spare...
After the snapped spring incident this morning, I got straight on euro parts and ordered 2 new rears. I knew they needed changing anyway as there was about an inch snapped from the bottom of both of them so i wasnt disappointed and it actually spurred me on to sort them out.
The rears that...
Picked up the car mats from Renault earlier. Rather than putting them in the dci, i swapped them for the same set that are currently in the 182 which were pretty much brand new also anyway, but it made sense to put the new ones in the 182.
Round 2 this afternoon. Massive thanks again to @mitch1503 who has spent hours helping me out!
New rear discs with correct 44 abs rings fitted along with brand new front discs and pads, and a full brake fluid flush.
Old front discs and pads looked really old but the pads looked like they...
I heard there was an initiale for sale on ebay the same as mine but couldnt find it when i looked. Take it this was it then??
Tell me the details... how much did you give for it? Whats the interior like? And is it the 100?
@Mazz @Rob Yes, they are 44 teeth, the same as the 1*2. I did wonder that too, but checked even before buying them. I also compared them together when off the car so they are definitely 44. I think it will be from scrubbing the heatshield with the wire brush and some has got in the sensor...
Rear seatbelts cleaned today along with the carpet and seats. Not perfect but a lot better and overall the car now feels clean.
Also cleaned the boot out and put some carpet underlay in the wheel well as the old stuff had fell apart. Spare Alloy put in place with the tool kit. Good to know...
Yes mate, the price they gave for the gates kit was more expensive than genuine Renault!
Thanks mate appreciate that. Got a mate helping with it as he knows what he is doing too.
EGR - i need a new one as my eml wont clear so i will see what its like when i manage to get hold of a new egr and...
Lol they have holes in them but i though still better to leave them on than take them off. Gave them a good clean with the wire brush and there was a pile of rust came off ??
@YorkshireKyle same happened to my 182!
The sliders on this seemed to be free though and working so hopefully they will be fine. We are going to do the fluid one night during the week anyway though. Had a look inside the bottle and it does look very old so will hopefully make a nice difference.
Lol, honestly mate its horrific! I have had to change the dash strips because they were giving me a head ache! They look 10x worse in person compared to pics, so imagine just how bad they are lol!?!?
I also think this was originally teimmed and this is just the underneath of it that happens to...
As mentioned above, I have quite a big list of things to do and I want to keep the cost as low as possible. The Initiale has the same rear brake set up as the 1*2’s which are quite expensive. I was luckily to find a set of rear discs with the bearings / abs pressed in on ebay advertised for £45...
STARTING ISSUE IS FIXED !!!!!!!!
I went ahead and got a key made up. It was £80 and a bit of a risk as i was t 100% this is what the problem was, but as it happens, it was. The car now starts as normal so I am very pleased about that!
I still have a massive list of things to do with it. As...

I think the above is a direct replacement that i would like to use. Can anyone confirm it will fit?
I had a price for everything from Renault Wolverhampton for just £127. Genuine Renault parts. Cambelt, tensioners etc, waterpump, 5ltr coolant and drive belt. If you can do it yourself or know someone who will help it will work out a cheap major service.
Wish my EGR looked that clean when i took mine off lol. Mine was filled full of crap. Interestingly though, my pipe was pretty clean so the opposite of what you have found with your egr / pipe.
Does it need the cambelt and drive belt changing?
