Gives the engine a more meaty sound.
I also had it fitted to my 172 before moving onto my 182.
Dead easy to fit, took about 10-15minutes. Just a couple of bolts and some jubilee clips.
I have my mum on the policy to help the price.
It brings price down by £200 and its fully legal. Like you say it would be different if she were the policy holder and I was a named driver.
Its all about risks, ie even if she only drives it once, thats one less time that Id be driving, hence...
Im 25.
4 prev claims (3 fault, 1 no fault)
1 yr NCB
No points
Fully Comp on my 182
Premium is £800 for 10months with Admiral
Going with 10month policies at mo to get the no claims built up hopefully.
Plus at renewal, two of the claims will drop past the 3yr boundary.
I never understood that, they knew inferno was gonna be an option months ago, so why delay its inception?
Id have ordered it instead of the arctic if it was available coz I loved my Red 172.
Ultimate answer?
Dont rely on either of em.
Approach corners anticipating all outcomes.
I learnt the hard way on a left hander with black ice. Put a 9month old car into a ditch. Outcome was a full write off.
I dont think Reno are doing free insurance at the moment.
Also the free insurance is normally only on "special edition" cars, used to help shift a large number in a small time.
Cars that sell well, dont need the help of free insurance to sell them.
Second hand values, you can ignore the paint.
Yes someone might wait til they find a Petrol blue one, but would a second hand buyer buy it if it was £1000 above other 2nd hand 182s? I think not.
Same with most other options I guess, yes they make it a more desirable 2nd hand car, but not...
Small Claims court?
I think it can all be done online now, Im sure someone on here used it.
It only costs you £30 to start proceedings I think and can be used for up to £5000??
Paddock Green is now called Petrol Blue.
Looks stunning but I think there are only a few about as up until recently there were no proper paint samples/photos etc.
yeah and the honda also lacks options that teh 182 has as standard, ie aircon half leather etc.
So the CTR is a more expensive car to start with, and then you pay even more for the options.
Also, what youre comparing is the CTR to the 182, when the same class of cars is CTR v Meg225 v...
The other option is to meet up with a local 172/182 owner and let them show you the car.
Instead of the dealer, youll get a much more honest view of the car.
So, where are you based?
I had a 172, part exchanged it for a 182.
Would I do it again........... Of course I would.
what else could I buy for that money that has that amount of toys/power/fun/etc
Sounds like you have personal doubts ralph and are looking for the littlest thing to put you off, so in that case...
Not worth the time effort or money.
I think youre looking at thousands to get it fitted, unless you can take it off another dynamique??? No idea if its possible to transfer from one car to another?
