I agree completely, different pieces of equipment will record the same sound differently etc. Just sounded very similar for what its worth. It's Ben btw.
Ignore the throttle message he got back, does the car still drive ok? Its probably the post cat lambda rather than the pre-cat one as you'd know if the pre-cat one had gone. Where abouts are you? I can stick it on clip for you get a proper diag if you wanted.
The resistor is there for fan low speed run, its shorted out on high speed which is probably why it runs when you unplug the cts as it runs full speed. Test it first with a meter rather than trial by replacement.
Don't think the lambda will make a blind bit of difference, the post cat one is only there to check the cat is working correctly. And if it were a pre-cat one it'd be idling rough and usually puts the engine management light on.
Blocked cat is a possibility I guess. Still, i'd put money on the...
Its not impossible just overly longwinded and expensive.
CC wise, a lot of the later cars have the loom in place but its still a few hundred in bits to retrofit. Theres a guide somewhere on here.
Forget the aftermarket kits.
No idea on budget and I haven't looked at this in detail its just an example but they do come with CC, I know because mine had it...
Risk is up to you ultimately, but I wouldn't run round knowingly with the timing out. You should've slackened off the 3 bolts holding the outer cam sprocket to allow the tension to equalise. Plus the cam and crank need to be pinned.
