Has anyone on here actively used an Apple TV for extending their desktop?
I currently have dual monitors with a PC. I bought a MacBook a few months ago, and I like to idea of going to single 27" monitor in 2560 res.
My plan was to effectively use an Apple TV as a wireless HDMI, but I was...
I can't seem to find any company in the South that will refurbish four alloys for any less than £200.With this in mind, I'm thinking about doing it myself - I tend to be quite good at these sorts of things because I'm a perfectionist; I'll be taking my time. The only problem is, they're...
I've got some wheels caked in brake dust, I've tried using AG Tar Remover on them which did nothing.
Any suggestions on something to get it off that is really strong? Don't mind if it affects paint, the wheels will be getting a refurb once they're cleaned up anyway.
Can anyone recommend a good place to get a set refurbished in Dorset/Hampshire?
I got a quote from The Wheel Specialist in Ferndown and it came to £312, which is about 4 times the price I was expecting - I know that place in Brum do a set for £80, so where does £312 come from?
Thanks, Jack.
When people are looking for parts, I often see pictures posted by those who have access to Renault parts or whatever (MarcR usually I think) that show every part with black outlines, pulled apart so you can see all the individual parts. That's a really naff explanation but I can't think how...
Currently I have the standard headunit, along with standard wiring and speakers. I have to have the bass on -3 when music is even moderately loud because otherwise the rattling gets on my tits.
Is this rattling due to the speakers themselves, or will this rattling always occur just due to the...
Bought this car back in March 2013, but didn't make a thread for it because since owning it I've been insured with Admiral (being 20 at the time) and didn't do anything to the car mod wise because it wasn't worth the rise in premium and fees. This year I'm going with Greenlight, so now have the...
This is a kind of, what option would you take question.
Insurance is due for renewal at the end of this month. I'm 21, 3 years NCB, LY182, less than 5k miles (around 3k actual), good postcode etc.
Best quote I've got so far is Elephant via Confused, offering £619.04, I've tried both Greenlight...
I currently have a desktop PC, and I have a new Macbook arriving next week. I want to carry on using both in different scenarios.
I'm trying to get a good setup together whereby I can access anything on either machine, and beyond, getting to the point where I can access anything on any...
Has anyone on here spent any time messing about with Apple TV 1/2 alternatives? They're going for around £170+ now on eBay, so trying to get the same sort of functionality on the cheap. Raspberry Pi seems to be the best alternative, but doesn't fully support Airplay; won't work from a Macbook...
Hey, know we've got some people on here who are good with this stuff...
My ExHDD is slowly dying, it's struggling to index the files on it, and taking files off it is extremely slow with stops and starts.
Was hoping there was some kind of software that could either take a snapshot/copy of...
I want to change all four shocks on my 182, and rather than paying someone else, I figured I could probably do it myself; there are plenty of guides on here and it seems relatively easy.
At the moment I have no tools whatsoever, so looking for some advice on kits etc that will allow me to carry...
This plastic door trim pillar, does it simply pull off with a bit of force? It squeaks when I drive, the previous owner appears to have tried wedging a few bits of plastic in there to stop it, but it's not effective, and the noise is starting to annoy me, any ideas people?
Thanks.
Rightio, my exhaust tailpipes looked like they had never been touched before, so this morning I set about tidying them up. Went at it with Autosol and fine grade steel wool, and it's done a decent job, taking away the vast majority of the carbon. However, now the carbon is gone, it's exposed...
Was hoping to buy OEM Recaro's for the LY in the near future; and because they rarely come up for sale second-hand, thought I'd see what they're like new, as I'd seen people say about ~£1200 from Capital, which isn't ideal but wouldn't be the end of the world either.
I got in touch with...
Right, this all stemmed from me looking for a good dock for my Galaxy S2; I had a gander at some threads around here and stumbled upon some people talking about the Belkin Tunebase, because it offered a good alternative to mounting a dock to the windscreen or over a vent. This product seems very...
Right, first time this has happened since I bought the LY. Drove it this morning all fine, went to move it earlier and it's not starting. Immobiliser light is going out, and all lights etc are fine so I'm assuming the battery is fine. When I go to start it, nothing happens, I just get a constant...
As per picture and title, the light for my fuel and temp dials has gone out, is this likely to be a wiring issue/lose connection? I'm fairly certain it's not the bulb because when I turned the car on earlier the light did come on but went off after about 2 seconds.
Any help appreciated.
Rightio, I'm planning on visiting Dan@SJM soon as possible for a full health check, because there are a few niggling things with the 182 I've just bought that I want to get checked out/sorted. However, just to confirm/ease my worries, I've taken a video of me starting the car this morning, and...
Right, so I've been driving my LY for a couple of weeks now, and having never driven another 182 before (something I need to address), the ride feels very hard. I'm not sure if this is the norm or whether it's the result of needing new shocks, or better tyres? The better tyres are coming ASAP...
Right, this is starting to wind me up. I've got the standard head unit in my 182, and it plays proper CD's fine, but it won't play any burned/blank discs. Searching found me a thread saying to use WMP and burn it as an audio CD - I've tried doing so but it's still not having it, I've tried a few...
So, today I took ownership of a FF Liquid Yellow 182, from a non-Cliosport member. It's my first 182, upgrading from my 1.2; I haven't stopped smiling all day. Didn't know whether to put it here in media or over in projects, but went with here because it won't be much of a project. It's in good...
Not sure if anyone's seen this or if it's a re-post? Couldn't decide whether to put it here or general chat, but figured gaming types are more likely to enjoy it. Someone posted it up on facebook, I reckon it's really well done/made.
The still doesn't give off the impression of what the video...
Has anyone ever claimed on their keycare cover? I have it currently, and have only had one key since I bought my current car. I was wondering if anyone knew more about the process - mainly what it would entail - would it be as simple as me being sent a new key from Renault, or me buying a key...
Wasn't certain where to put this - it's selling/tax/insurance.
I currently own a 1.2 Clio, my current insurance policy with Adrian Flux runs out on the 30th March. I'm planning on changing car to a 182 in the very near future.
Now this is all getting a bit confusing what with cars either...
Right, I'm a bit pissed off right now; I'll explain. I bought a new Xbox 360 Slim just before Christmas, but unfortunately I bought it from HMV. I now have a problem where from the second it is turned on the fan is running at full power, which is making it far too loud to use. I'm pretty fucked...
Right, I've seen a beaut 182 on the bay, but the advert is absolute shite unfortunately. I'm trying to look past it, as the car looks genuinely good. Basically, what's holding me back is that he says he's selling it on behalf of the husband of a friend. I asked a few questions; says it has a...

What do we think? Seems well below market value to me, given that it's only done 63k and he says it has a full Renault Service History. Other than getting the...
