Hopefully K-Tec are working on replacement rear boxes, with slightly larger pipes and a meatier growl. Also wonder how much different the de-cat pipe would be to the 172 as they have changed the exhaust manifold and the cat so its a redesign needed there as well.

I think its only the 5th gear that is slightly different, but the rest is the same I think

Daz, Let me get this right? You got Cup Suspension/Wheels AND the spoilers for 200 extra? Howd that work? Coz the spoilers are 150pound option without the suspension/wheels pack etc.

Maybe we should stand up and be counted. Its not a rare occurence now really is it? Yours, Hippys and at least 1 other cup going up in flames.

Moose, do keep us informed. I know its not the best of things to keep us informed about, but it would be nice to know what happens.

Id say it depends on why you bought this car. Do you want a "new-ish" car or an older quicker car?

Only thing Moose.... Is that 9750 - your excess? ie you get a chq for 9,400 if excess is 350 etc, or is that 9,750 in your hand? 9,900 will buy you my 03 Flame Red 172 as thats what Ive just p/exd it for a 182.

Moose, you will go from 3yrs NCB to 1yr NCB, thats normall how it works. At least thats what happened to me with Admiral.

well put it this way...... I was 24 (same age range as you 21-25) with 4 claims (3fault) and paid 1400 for my insurance on a 172 last year. Im now 25, 1yr NCB, still with 4claims and I got a quote of 645 on a brand new 182. so, I wouldnt worry too much about it, its not as bad as you think.

I got a quote of 645 from elephant.co.uk 25yrs old, 1NCB, 4prev claims (3fault) for a new 182, 250excess etc. So Id guess that your quotes could be lower as youre 29.

Also, make sure you claim for a new driveway, coz the fire will have wrecked the tarmac under the car etc.

mk2 172 does indeed have 16". They are 195/45/16 iirc
