Re: Gonna have a go at doing head gasket, dephaser and timing belts tomorrow.........
I've only done it with the engine out and it was ok by following the correct procedure and using the correct tools. Think it would be a different story doing it in situ for space and vision.
It's easier to take the whole thing out IMO as you need to hold the nut under the mount to free the top rubber. Also means you can ensure it's all torqued up correctly.
Not too much work to remove complete mount.
From memory:
Remove battery
Remove airbox and inlet pipe
Remove ecu bracket
Take the weight of the gearbox with a trolley jack
Disconnect loom from mount
Remove 3 17mm bolts holding mount to gearbox
Remove 4 13mm bolts holding mount to chassis
Pull the mount free from the bay
Unbolt upper and...
Just thinking, this is what my megane 225 fuel rail inlet but I thinkthe Clio is a different connection. None of mine are the same as yours. You'd be better just measuring it.
Re: 172 Cup track toy!
Had a good discussion with Scoff about this and can see his point that the fingers move as they are linked to the cover that is being bolted but the pressure plate is a solid bit of cast that should not move and should be perfectly flat. The fact that my spare OEM cover...
Re: 172 Cup track toy!
Not good mate!
I've emailed them with my issue and sent photo's but heard nothing back. Scoff has offered to get it machined for me so I'll take him up on that I think.
Let me know how you get on with them if you get a minute to phone them.
Re: 172 Cup track toy!
Are you experiencing any slip? I would be very interested to hear what they say to you but as my cover is second hand I dont think they will entertain my issue.
I would love to know if the run out is normal and evens out once bolted to the flywheel or outside of...
Re: 172 Cup track toy!
Not really given it anything other than driving it to scoffs before it had been mapped so no boost and then on the rollers where it was apparent that there an issue with something slipping.
Yeah, the majority of the paddle thickness is 6.75mm with the outside edge being...
Re: 172 Cup track toy!
Had a good look around all the potential causes of this issue and think I have found something.
The flyweel is perfectly flat and evenly worn. When checked with the clock gauge there was only 0.07mm run out.
The paddle plate is perfectly flat also other than the...

Good vid mate. Sounds like you get a lot of wheel spin coming out of bends and need to short shift or is that just me?
Sounds very nice though, can't wait till mine is back on the track. :(
Cheers for your input Russ. Came with a release bearing but will look into others that can be used.
The car won't be used on the road as it is a track car and eventually a race car if I don't take a sledge hammer to it! Lol
