They will not be hubcentric at that thickness then. You will need longer bolts and will need bored out to suit. A steering judder will probably follow as well. Do you really need them?
Anyone know where you can get different oil fittings for Mocal Laminova oil coolers.
Got some AN10 fittings today for mine and they are too small. Think the cooler must have AN12 ports.
Cheers
Try and get a large flat head screw driver on the piston side of the caliper and force it back slightly. This will give you enough space to get the pads out. You will probably have a lip round the outside of the disc that is preventing you getting them off.
What thickness of spacer are you...
Re: 172 Cup track toy!
Got some time today to get a couple of jobs out the road that needed done. But, the more I do, the more issues appear!
Change the crank seal as I thought this was where the leak was coming from, no. The crank seal cover bolts were all loose???
Had to drill the the...
I have heard of both key'd and non key'd pulleys but when I took mine off today it was key'd.
Am I right in saying this would prevent the cam belt procedure being fully followed as you can't rotate the belt with all the pulleys slackened off and is this really required?
I ended up...
If you use the car on track do not use hammerite. I did and the paint blistered like a chafed joggers nipple.
I use VHT paint now and not had any issues at all.
Dont use 5.1 fluid unless you are changing regularly. Use a good dot4 if your doing trackdays like motul RBF600 or similar.
Never managed to boil the stuff yet.
Pagid blues do last forever though. I have used a set on 8 trackdays and a couple of thousand road miles and there is still 50% of them left. Never had any problems with Brembo Max discs cracking and if my blues have lasted that long with max discs they should last forever with OE discs. Scary...
For what? track or road use?
I have used both on track and the blues are far superior. Blues also should be used with Brembo Max discs to prevent the pad face from glazing.
If you're using on the road then the DS2500's would be better as they work better from cold.
What coilovers do you have, AST 1's?
The adjustment on the whit line bars makes a difference as on hard I go drifting on cold tyres and wet days when on soft I can keep it straight.
I have kw v2's so still use the OE spring platform. I'm sure you will get use to it and never having driven a...
Rear ARB is adjustable and so can be tailored to a particular track or weather conditions where this kit can't. And as you say, if it takes a side impact it could damage the shell. Looks a good piece of kit but can't make my mind up on it's pros and cons.
I've played with my rear set up with...
Looking good mate! :approve:
What sort of performance gains would you expect from the rear beam stregthening kit? is there much flex in the orgininal design???
FFS, easy outs or a stud extractor cost a few £ and would have this out no problem. :S
Having the right tools for the job makes life much easier and when they cost not much more than a pint of beer it makes even more sense.
Do you need to replace the cam pulley nuts and bolts and the tensioner after slackening them and removing the timing belt?
I need to replace the timing side crank seal and reset the timing and so the inlet and exhaust pulleys will be slackened along with the tensioner and it says in the manual...
The volume of fluid behind the piston when fully extended goes a long way in a brake line. Particularly the front as they are larger pistons and shooter pipes.
According to Mr Haynes manual it is the way to do it for a few reasons.
1) The seals in the abs system and master cylinder can be damaged.
2) The fluid behind the piston will have the most sh*t from the caliper that you don't want being pushed back through the system.
3) The fluid in the...

Update time!
As I said, I went to Scoffs to get the car fully mapped last Sunday. Things were totally fine on the drive down and I arrived just before 12pm which was a 4 hour drive. Scoff quickly got the car on the rollers but it became quickly apparent that things were...
