Looking to get my flywheel lightened and balanced but going to a good machine shop I use in work.
Just so that I know what to tell them, where is the best place to remove material from and where should it be left on.
Anyone got pics of a before and after lightening?
Cheers
Need an intercooler for my turbo set up and looking to get to around 280bhp.
What size of inlets would be suited to this power level? Would 2" be enough or would this be too restrictive?
The intercooler I'm looking at is from an focus st.
Was just asking you about this (exhaust parts) earlier Fred, whats the chances.
Stevie, what difference did the ceramic coating make to the temps around the brake lines?
Why would you want to do pistons?
Re: Clio 172 Cup Project!!
Not the Ktec kit, I'm going down the 182/225 hybrid route. Got the long engine yesterday but needs some more bits and pieces before fitting. I'll be doing it over the winter and should be ready for spring next year.
Re: Clio 172 Cup Project!!
Cracking looking bit of kit the RS2.
Car looks good on the White 2118's but I have to say that.
Our engines are going in different directions now. I'm going turbo.
I was trying to prevent ripping apart what I had already bonded but might come to that.
I'll see if I can do it from the outside without making it look sh*t.
The mesh over the brake ducts is a good idea. I'm scared in case I get a bird ora squirrel down mine.
How did you get it to stay in place?
Really is a fine example of a cup! Credit to you mate.
So what we are saying is spigot rings are not required on any wheel?
Applying and understanding/knowing logic are two very different things, yes.
Sorry for pissing you off, wouldn't want to do that now would I?
Apologies to Mark also. My final word on the subject and nice car!
If you're not locating on the spigot and relying on the nuts to locate the wheel, how could this not give vibration at +/- 1mm or so with the wheel turing at about 500rpm? Not wanting to start any issues with your sale to someone but I just can't see how you could accurately locate the wheel...
Take it to a stealer. They will be more expensive than a specialist but when you add 3 tanks of fuel and the possibility of a snapped belt then that's what I would do. At the end of the day the dealers should be able to carry out servicing work on their own make.
It will be the exhaust frequency that is vibrating the heatsheild not the contact with the exhaust itself. That's why it only does it at that particular rev.
Thanks for useful replies!
The scoop on sunbarus (especially the classics) only works to around 100mph hence the reason that so many imprezas need rebuilds after high speed runs. The intake temps rockets as the intercooler gets starved of cold air. If going for more than about 330bhp a front...
Anyone know if a V6 airbox is worthwhile on a turbo setup?
I always see open induction kits but would this not be better than an open IK with a cold air feed from somewhere?
