Don't get me wrong, any mod for reliability is NEVER a waste of time. If you pay money for a track day and only last a couple hours is a waste of money for a small outlay to prevent it happening again.
He used a stud kit and spacers and only used it on the track so he didnt bother with spigot rings.
Not sure on his set up but were the spacers hub centric? Surely you'd need to locate the centre bore on something or the wheel vibration would be horrendous.
Completely agree!
Second hand coilovers are hit or miss so be prepared for buying twice.
Id go for a set of eibach springs and an ARB.
Are you going for handling or the ride height?
Use tiger seal to fix 100mm ducting to the back of the fog lamp surround and you should need about 400mm of ducting per side. You'll also need some kind of deflector.
Just seems overkill to me.
Was your level ok when cold?
I've never changed the fluid so its the same stuff as the day it was made. I think if you change the pump, bleed the system and have the correct level you'll not have another issue.
I've done 6 track days Over the summer months and never had any issues with mine and I was pushing very hard. Are you sure the pump was just not on it's way out already or there is another issue causing it to overheat?
Re: Clio 172 Cup Project!!
Nice wheels matey. Love the White on the cups but they are a bugger to keep clean with all the brake dust.
You're right, our cars look like bothers from different mothers!
Re: 172 Cup track toy!
Cheers pal!
I removed the rear adjuster but put it back in as I kept hearing the rear springs knocking as there was nothing to locate on. You could bolt the springs down onto the platforms but I just stuck the platforms back in. It sits low enough for me at the back...

Seen that one, it's a good shot!
There is a pic on the last page that shows the catch tank and hose. All you need to do is follow the pipe on you inlet elbow and remove it. Put the new hose from the catch tank in its...

More of an update coming tomorrow.
Drive gentle for a about 5 mins if you have been red lining every gear for a while but cooling down a turbo car is to get the hot oil out the turbo not the engine.
I was told by the dealer when I bought my 172 cup new that the F4R engine doesn't need run in as the tolerances as so good that...
Took the wishbones to a garage this morning to get the sleeves welded onto the wishbones and they had trouble getting the weld to take. He said the sleeve is stainless and the wishbone is mild steel and so they couldn't weld it. Anyone got any tips on what type of wleding can be used and how...
