lol ok
Its a Pioneer DEH-4200SD... And i have a set of hertz comps front and back, but without upgrading the tweeters because they didnt come with any.
If i get a set of tweeters to replace the OEM's do i need to use crossovers? both sets didnt come with any either.
I think my main problem is...
Mr Giraffe, you've made me want to upgrade my tweeters, are tweeter mount usually 2x screws and normally the same screw spacing or are they retro fitted on the clio's?
Is there a set you would recommend under £30?
He was given a set of comps so hes uprated the tweeters so far, but the speaker size he was given was too large so he will get a smaller comp speaker in the front and a cheap set in the back.
I agree its not going to be the best audio set up but it will do for now :)
Cheers mate, good guide...
Its better than nothing though for the moment, he might add a sub at a later point. (this is a mates car not mine)
I think the loom at the front end has the speaker wires but after the plug near the bonnet release lever is, towards the back the speaker wiring doesn't exist... or maybe it does...
Ok sorry ill PM a mod.
I think the wires might end at the block in the picture and have no wire to the rear, or just the wires run past the speakers doing nothing, either way I wont know till I have a look myself.
Thanks for the replies.
Cheers MT Audio, bit of luck asking the question and a guide being made nearly at the same time!
Thats one option, But surely the wires go past the rear speakers? Ill have to trace them myself I suppose, I want to just solder onto the original wires without cutting the block up If possible, how...
I've looked into it slightly, I can see on the back of the connector block the wires are attached so im hoping they run either past or up to the rear speakers?
And I've read sometimes they are just tucked into the tape on the wiring loom with no plug on obviously? that would be good because I...
I'm helping a mate try to get rear speakers wired up in his campus.
Ive looked at the back of the head unit connectors and there looks like there is all 4 speaker wires leading to wherever.
The fronts are connected up, but the rears came with no speakers... but I've had the plastic panels off...
Use the right NGK plugs someone has quoted above, make sure the engine is cool (overnight cool is best), use a torque wrench if possible or by hand if your confident you wont strip any threads.
Just two torx screws i think, might be bolts, but i think you just stick your hand up the bumper and unscrew, only remember from my 1.2, might have to remove some plastic on the sports, its self explanatory really.
Ratchet screwdriver really helps and it has to be short to work.
Top work mate, paint and steering wheel look very nice.
I'd love a 3/4 plate but I too cannot be bothered with the worry of points on my licence :dapprove:
Btw, 5 hours on the roof? is that how long it takes to correct the 1st pic to the second? Ive tried machine polishing just holograms out...
Full credit for the DIY polisher lol, you definitely need a drill mop!
Post it up on detailing world pretending your a n00b using it on paint and ask if tcut is a good polish then post the thread ;)
Results look good :)
Off topic but have spotted you around Loughton mate (i think) if your number plate is the same, must be being a trophy because that's what i spotted! Car was looking good.
Hope your problems sorted soon.
I stumbled across wrecks to riches the other day, when they take scrap american muscle cars then restore them.
Cant say I agree with all there styling but Ive been hooked watching it.
That aside, love these:

I'm slowly ironing out the small creases with the car i.e. missing things.
Can anyone take a pic of what secures this plastic bracket holding the pipe? its just another thing i want to sort.
I might just put a black bolt and nut through it, or a plastic split pin... Any suggestions would be good.
Front diamond has 3 prongs on, so clipped, and pulls off.
Rear clio badge on the non sport has 2 pins and goes through the bodywork, so removing that will leave 2 holes.
Rear diamond is removable but its plastic welded into the handle so the plastic tabs need to be pushed out for the diamond...
Iceberg182 seems to have done it on his 182? seems like its a strike off job

If i where you (after doing a stretch cv boot kit, then after doing it properly with the outer cv joint off) I would get the outer cv off and put a good boot on it. The stretch universal boot i used was a pain in the arse and although did the job i couldnt see it lasting very long it was quite...
Climate control sensor i think its called, flat head screwdriver on the light bit, pull that down then get your hand in where the light came out and pull down, take the fan out and clean it, or order a new one.
