Attempted some "propper" cleaning, Black gold 182

Cheers everyone, makes it worth the time and effort after seeing what people think :) Cheers gally, I think ill get one soon I thought it might be slightly too aggressive. I want to actually correct the car, but all i seem to do is glaze/fill the swirls. Should really get onto it but I never...

    Clutch pedal a bit sticky

Decided to do it so went for it, just the 2 air box mount screws out, air bend off and wrestled the air box out, then to the right of the fork theres a nipple around where the wire goes in, I stuck the thin red straw that comes with spray greases down there and gave it a small squirt. Then I...

What HT leads and plugs to get and where from?

Im not sure there is a major difference between magnecore and Renault, I think its just the fact you can get colours. Might be very wrong though. Seen a few people recommend this site: http://www.performanceleads.co.uk/ And I'd say ebay for the plugs.

link between blowing headlamp bulbs, broken lighter and window washer jets broke?

Probably because its french ;) How often are the bulbs blowing? you should clean your headlight earths, follow the batterys earth and it should attatch to the divide between the engine and battery (so you will see the battery eath) and there should be another earth next to that which is the...

    Clutch pedal a bit sticky

I've sprayed some silicone spray on the actual clutch pedal pivot a while ago, but i can feel its in the cable or something else. Do you know where you've got to spray? Is there a gap in the cable to spray a bit of grease down?

Attempted some "propper" cleaning, Black gold 182

Thought i'd copy some of this over from my project thread as its where most people look. Decided to start early and attempt to give some more shine to the paintwork rather than keep just cleaning it and waxing over the top of dullish paint. Started off with a pressure wash, colli 476 still...

    Clutch pedal a bit sticky

Since its been hot and a while before this my clutch pedal has become a bit sticky, sort of coming up in stages but not severe although its still annoying. Ive read after searching that something can be lube'd is it the clutch cable itself something else? A new clutch cable is the best...

Looks very tidy mate. What do you mean by making the pictures come out better? do you mean the actual shots you are taking, or the way they are shown on here? Upload them to photobucket, the past the tags in here.

    Will these fit my clio....

The badges in the OP's link are real carbon fibre, thats why they're that price. The 3M di noc is good for a cheap effect, but the real carbon fibre does look better.

Mot refusal cup 182 2005 any help much appriciated :)

Depends what the discs and pads look like, if you put a pic up on here of the fronts and backs, and how much material is left on the pads then it can be judged. If its an advisiory, it will need doing soon but the length of when cant be guessed until there looked at. I would get the car...

Mot refusal cup 182 2005 any help much appriciated :)

Well you need new front discs and pads, imbalance could be a sticky caliper? or pads stuck in the calipers? Front discs and pads change is fairly easy, popular combo is Brembo HC discs and Ferodo pads. Rear discs the bearings are pressed into the disc, so bought from Renault or a trader on...

    172/182 clutch pedel rivets broke

When I replaced my pedals, i used the medium size of rivet that came with the gun and it was a exact match, could drill out all 4 and replace them, doesn't take long. Pics are in my project thread if you want a look.

Removing polishing stains on plastic trim

Sorry wasn't a very good joke, I know. Like above pencil rubber on the stains then a trim dressing like AG bumper care or simlar works ok. Sometimes if the plastic is really faded a hair dryer to warm the faded plastic up before dressing it works well.

Squeaky gearchanges and slight vibration through wheel??

I only had the squeak on my 1.2 when it was hot, and i think if id have left it it would have been fine, but squirting a thinner wd40 type grease on it seemed to disolve the thicker grease (well thats what i thought) packing it with thick grease again after worked. If its been hot around your...

Squeaky gearchanges and slight vibration through wheel??

Yeah lithium grease sounds about right, as long as its got a good thickness to it. Mine sounded like a squeek every time i changed gear, your changing quite fast so its hard to tell, best thing to do is whip the gaitor off, put some grease on it, move the gear stick up and down and keep packing...

Squeaky gearchanges and slight vibration through wheel??

Sounds a bit like the ball which is under the gear gaitor could be tight and un-greased but not sure. The leather gear gaitor needs to be unclipped (the clips break very easily so be careful). think the end you slide a flat head screwdriver in is the bottom of the gaitor then lift it up and you...

Squeaky gearchanges and slight vibration through wheel??

Read your PM mate, so replying here.. Mine wasnt as loud as that, it started when it was hot so i lifted the gear leaver and sprayed some silicone grease onto the ball, seems it was a bad idea as it made it worse, i packed it after with the only thing i had... vaseline and it solved it abit...

Freak hail storm ruins my 172

If it was my car, I know paintless dent removal is a skill, but i'd be tempted to buy a beginners dent removal kit and practice massaging the dents out, but obviously a replace/respray is needed on a account of this many dents.

Loud knock when i turn the steering wheel

If you jack up your front wheels one at a time (dont just use the boot jack its not very stable, use a trolley jack and an axel stand if you can) then put one hand at the top of the wheel and one at the bottom and move the tyre rock the wheel like that, this can sometimes show a click which...
