Blimey mate, after seeing 3 fire related threads recently im going to get a fire extinguisher for the car I think.
Hope it doesn't cost too much to fix.
Good update, progress sounds good, a lot has been done by the sounds of it.
Do you mind me asking how much you paid for the inner track rods to be replaced? or did you do it yourself?
Ive seen someone do it on dual optics taken apart and the inside painted black, trouble with the mk2 lights is they melt easily when put in the oven to soften the glue iirc, and its a big risk with the units costing so much(ish)
Also resealing is a problem, I've read a few times water will most...
Not as bad as i thought at all.
- £6.94 x2 (clutch and brake i think) which I will renew
£27.82 x1 - I think is obviously the accelerator which isnt bent or anything so i will leave and polish up.
PM Wests Renault if you need them, unsure if they come with rivets and i still need a rivet gun.
Having a look at my foot pedals today I've decided if OEM replacements don't cost silly money I might replace them as the metals worn and pitted.
I see the shiny pedals are riveted over black base pedals, has anyone replaced there and know roughly how much they cost?
I imagine id just have to...
I think the best thing to do would be to get some hydrate 80, seen people use it in project threads on here with rust. Cure the rust then give them each a quick blip of hammerite black spray.
Thats what I'm going to do when i get round to it.
Doesnt matter, if your not using a machine to polish back up and only going by hand and polish, try and keep the grit of sandpaper high i.e. 2000 / 2500 like someones said above, on my 1.2 i made the mistake of using too harsher sandpaper and it took me ages to polish out the scratches that...
If you look under the coolant bottle in the engine bay and to the right a bit you can feel the bonnet release grommet... or from the inside and looking up the passenger footwell there it a grommet where the bonnet release cable feeds through, if you stick a screwdriver through gently to break...
Someone will probably know if it still happens, but Renault will replace it for free if there are signs of rust of they used to as a recall (if you didnt know).
Something like this? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-3M-Paint-Protection-Tape-1mx150mm-Helicopter-Bike-Frame-Shield-Guard-/320887848834?pt=UK_sportsleisure_cycling_bikeparts_SR&hash=item4ab667ff82#ht_3290wt_1436
Would probably stand out on the paintwork ever so slightly, better off with...
What the hole thats near enough dead center in the pic?
Need to know the points to look out for because I want to nab one soon, unless i can buy one cheap enough from someones 182 to be sure.
Yep I had fun changing mine whilst on the drive, it does have a metal ring inside it, getting something flat on the edge of the ring and hammering it off worked for me.
Reviving this... Everyone selling the upper inlets on ebay thinks the 172 and 182 manifold are the same, so on the 182 upper inlet Martin182 said there is an extra stubb for the carbon canister hose, is that the stub coming from the back of the throttle body?
Can someone point out how I can...
Look fine to me after doing a bit of research on what good and bad spark plugs look like, If the coil pack doesn't solve your problem you could try the spark against metal test on each plug to see if one is faulty. After that maybe diagnostics tests.
