Take apart the rain sensor behind the rear view mirror and clean it, resemble it with a smear of ibuprofen gel on the jelly sensor, then resemble, fixed mine, i had no intermittent wipe. Search my project thread a few pages before the end if you want to see roughly what it looks like.

You dont need them, but it helps if one person can push down on the top of the stut once the new springs on and its assembled to get the small nut on a few turns.
