Looks strange, and saying you rubbed like mad with tcut it kind of looks like a strike through / youve gone through the lacquer... does it feel matt when you feel it? but i doubt that, probably needs to be corrected with...
I had a thread a while back, I had quite a lot of movement left to right, i changed the track rod and it solved the clicking noise i was having, that was a while ago i need to get my head back down in the arch and have a look, i have a resistance noise when moving off and i know where is still...
I had the same problem, I only had one side jacked up at a time, get both fronts off the ground and for me the hub met the strut much more, then wrestle it into place, screwdriver helps for a quick lining up then bolt which ever hole is left.
I like mine, there not stupidly loud or embarrassing, nice burble when going slow, quietens down a lot at low driving speeds but still sounds fairly nice when driving hard.

Same I bought the car and its got one or both missing, don't think they can be bought separately, Shame really but understandable.. same with the rubber stopper inside the petrol cap, missing one of those.
In the last picture looks like heavy sanding marks in the underneath filler? maybe DIY respray? so could be the lacquer gone funny?
Yes i suggested brick acid, seen a few people suggest it for heavily caked wheels, never tried it myself but thought id suggest seeing as you said track wheels to...
I had the same problem with brake dust that would not budge with bilberry etc.
I bought wonder wheels which is acidic, it got the crap off, i then polished and sealed the wheels with wax after.
Brick acid also works but anything acidic will slightly or heavily dull the lacquer but my one use...
No pics of the engine on a car which power is a main selling point :/ would definitely want to see what the bay looked like!

So this 'The mask', does it leave a clear coat over the chip? i.e. just clear soaking into the primer so no water can get in etc? (still showing the chip) or does it hide the chip?
