get them off one of the two sites edde recommended. got mine off black circles (as they're uk based) and got them fitted locally and worked out really cheap. otherwise, try to order some thinner tyres as on a 7'' width alloy they're not going to be 'stretched' as such.

had 15's on my 1.2 for ages and ages. went to 16's for a few weeks and didnt notice 'that' much difference. however got 15's on my 172, and wont be changing them as it feels pretty much perfect.

tbh this debate is pretty much what ive been toying with myself. i have a 172, and i could spend 4k on the engine getting ITB which would ultimately make me very happy indeed. however 4k on a 4k car really doesnt make any sense, which is why i think i will go down the route of 'mild' engine...

do tend to agree with that! the problem comes when people with little or no experience get 'given' a fast car and dont respect it. i did tend to drive my 172, albeit for only 3 weeks, more sensibly than i did my 1.2 mainly because i knew if i wanted to i could plant my foot and give it a blast.
