    Removing Sunroof

Yeah, you can't do it the sheet metal is too thin and will warp if you try to weld anything in it's place. The only option is to reskin the roof, not a cheap job. Just seal up the sunroof, I did mine properly and had no issues ever again.

Graham's summer 172 cup track car

Brilliant, photobucket has really done me over. Anyway, over to flickr I go. Haven't done much on the cup recently because I've been busy with other things but managed to swap over the pads to RC8s before doing Brands last Wednesday. Before the day I was a bit unhappy with the brakes so, with...

Home cctv and phone apps? recommendations please!

I got a Swann 1080p kit off eBay, 2tb hard drive, motion detection, can view on phone and send email notifications, plug and play kit which is really good. Think it's the 4550 model, can't remember but I like it a lot. Just beware some companies list the cameras as "professional" but when you...

Cruise control on a RS 172 or a dCi (DIY)

Your laptop would need to be a 32bit OS for it to work. I should have mine up and running in a few weeks. Sounds like the wiring stops at the bulkhead connector.

Cruise control on a RS 172 or a dCi (DIY)

is there a clutch switch already in the car? it sounds like there might be then. It will however work without one as the switch just earths that pin when the pedal is depressed. You'll need clip to turn cruise control on in the clocks. I have clip but my laptop needs repairing before it'll be...

Graham's summer 172 cup track car

Did a couple of bits quickly on the cup yesterday as time was quite limited. Got this manifold swap down to a fine art now, did it in two hours and had a chat with the neighbour whilst at it. although it doesn't sound like a big difference I only dropped one side of the subframe off the ball...

CCTV what have you got? Advice needed

A friend of mine has a door bell with a camera in which links up to an app, telling her when someone's at the door using a motion sensor. You can speak to them telling them where to leave a parcel or just keep an eye. Can be battery or wired into the normal doorbell output. About £150 last time...

Graham's summer 172 cup track car

MOT - Fail In the last update I left the car on axle stands where it has unfortunately remained until Saturday after I finally received the correct brake lines to fit. The weekend before the annual ritual of swapping over the manifold in prep for the MOT happened. Timed it and took just over 3...

£30k to spend, what performance car?

First two yes! Won't be able to get a cayman R for that kind of money. Seen a couple of 4Cs at just over 30 with slightly higher than average mileage but they go quickly when well priced. M3 CS.

    DCI 65 intercooler

honestly don't waste your time. Just do the dci 80 or 100 intercooler and decat it. The fuel systems aren't good on the ph2 dci so leave it standard and you'll hopefully get a few more miles out of it. Coolers occasionally pop up on eBay for about £40-50.

If you got SET on the dash that means it's going to work. It's the ECU saying it has the possibility for it.

My BG 182 Track Car Build

Big update Mark! Lots done :) All of it looks really good with your OCD touch. Have you sorted the brakes now? I always bleed the brakes with the engine running so the valves in the ABS pump are open properly.

    First time on track

Few things I'd say although appreciate it's a bit late now. Gradually increase your speed as it's easy to over cook it early on. Get tuition as early as possible so you can improve for the rest of the day. Check wheel torques regularly. Tyre pressure are very important 28-30 psi hot seems to...

well that depends which light you have. If you buy a DRE you don't need them because it has sufficient settings to adjust. The above diagram is for the cheapy light the OP used.
