Definitely a fuel system issue Chris. Look for airbubbles in the fuel lines. At that mileage I would suspect injectors and not pump but have been proven wrong before. If it's pump or more than one or two injectors I'd cut your losses.
Had a mixed weekend with the cup. Good news though, I'm finally ready for next weekend.
It was freezing yesterday but I got all the jobs done I wanted to and was done by about 2. The local autocentre has a Hunter alignment which is great for accuracy so I always take it there. To cut a long...
I used to look at write off cars all day so that's a ding compared to the things I used to see 😂 Hopefully getting it repaired in the next couple of months but no rush really. Lots in the pipeline so update to come!
Cheers Dan. I think I can see some real track use on the horizon which will be nice!
Can't want to see your car done! Will have a read through your updates this evening :)
Evening chaps
@Martin. came down with me today and we got a few bits done to the Cup before hitting Bedford GT in a couple of weeks. Whilst not a particularly exciting list of bits done it's all those small bits which finish it off nicely.
Got the GoPro mounted on the front cross, giving a...
Assume they're going to pay! I'll try and get the video from them if possible as I assume it has CCTV! Would be fun to see. Bus was barely damaged but because it's a yield generator they'll charge for loss of earnings while it's off the road.
It's a book spec cage so I'd expect a fair few bolts! Access wasn't a problem at all. Nothing a spanner and a socket set couldn't get to.
No not at all, no noise from it whatsoever. The rest of the car however is horrificly loud.
Certainly is matey. Yep that's exactly what I was after. Got bored of waiting for it to be produced.
Had a lot of positive comments on it this week! Very very pleased with it, even my mum liked it.
Cheers mate, the sunstrip is an ebay job 8"...

What an eventful weekend! Friday night, just gone half six, I popped my earplugs in, threw my bags in the car and left Greenwich for the 200 mile drive up to Hull having been mega excited for what lay ahead the next day. Earlier in the week I had spoken to the receptionist at the hotel to...
@Akay thanks matey. Maybe yours is after mine then! You understand correctly with the airbags. If you have a look at the photo on one of the previous slides those are the wires to leave in. I've kept the airbag ecu so the light turns on and off for MOT purposes. It's also used as part of the vin...
Evening chappies
The cold weather has really hit now. We did a bit of final winter work on the cup yesterday before the next track day at Brands in december and it was freezing outside. Managed to get a couple of bits done to the car though.
Brake Ducts - these were actually very easy to fit...
Couple of updates to keep the thread alive as everyone goes into winter hibernation.
Drove the car briefly on Sunday which of course was huge fun. The seats at the moment are too far back and need moving forward for the sake of control and the new cage. I'll do that at cage fitting time though...
Cheers Dan, must have a look through yours soon, seems to progress very fast!
It's a DRE shift light. It's possibly one of the easiest things to fit, live, ground and signal wire from the coil pack.
Painting finished. Got the seats in today and the shift light in. That was a quick sentence to write but it took ages to get both things done right. Big thanks to @Martin. for coming down and helping with all the cup jobs. Cage next. I'm wondering if it's actually going to be possible to get a...
Thanks matey, it is great to have it finally done but god I miss having unlimited time at my disposal! The car is on 438 cat cams, rs lower inlet, ac and pas delete, decat, 182 manifold and a terrible induction kit!
Yeah it would be usable if I bored it out but I'm looking to get around 250 out...
Evening Chaps, few little updates on the Clio.
Weekend just gone I headed down to Surrey Rolling Road, arrange by @TimR26, with buddies @AlexW @Sash and @Martin. It was a very good day and I was over the moon to see the cup run 196.3 bhp after saying I'd be happy with anything over 180. It shows...
Thanks for organising the day Tim, thoroughly enjoyed it, especially after my run. Was good news for the cup today, it made more power then ktec claimed! Hilarious amounts of oil coming out the back. Not bad considering the engine and ECU came out of another car.
A great day with great mates.
😂 Cheers matey, I'm old in the head that's for sure.
Spent a little time on the car today fitting the PMS brace and top mounts and looking over it after the trackday. Thankfully the car has had solid mounts on in a previous life so it had pre-drilled holes for them, huge time saver...
Cheers boyo! I had a decat in mine which made it considerably louder. Think I paid £140 for my centre silencer but it was "soiled" stock. I have to say it was worth me swapping it because I didn't bat an eye lid about the noise limits all day. I'm sure you'll be fine though, I did a weekend day...
Was a bit of a bummer to start the day that's for sure. We'll get to the bottom of it!
How would you check the fuel pressure Mark? With the ph2 lines it's a bit more difficult in my head.
Bedford
It was an eventful journey but the weekend was perfect. Friday we left home about 7, had a wonderful journey through the blackwall tunnel and quickly found out the car was a little low with all the gear in. I'd take spare hubs, discs, driveshafts etc etc so it wasn't light at all. The...
