I'm quite looking forward to seeing the 6...hell I may even go all Apple and upgrade purely because I can even though my 5 still works more than fine on a daily basis.
Screen/body size? I think most will get used to it over time.
Thinking further about this those tests on the video would have had the phones at ambient temperature when subjected to the bend force.
Surely in someone's pocket the body heat would make the frame even more malleable? Ultimately 37c against say 20c?
Time will tell if it's a problem en masse...
@dk proved it with a scientific video did he not?
It's especially relevant given the size of them. Much as many claim there's only a few that have bent, I'd wager there's a load more who accept it and don't want to 'come out'.
@dk
Yes, agreed, the problem is not unique to Apple.
You have to admit it's a bit laughable that a company and its fans who have always touted build solidity and quality as a USP and point of distinction, now, with their latest phones, find themselves at the bottom of the pile when it comes to...
So that confirms that it's no where near as tough as its rivals...deforming with only half the pressure applied that other phones can absorb. Regardless of how comprehensive their test facilities appear, that's a big oops.
Yep. Instead spend the money on trackdays, a spare set of rims and some sticky tyres. You'll have a blast. To spend anything trying to improve them is a little pointless when they're so capable straight out of the box...especially considering what they're worth now.
LOL
If I see a bent car, regardless of having driven that specific model or not, I think I'm still qualified to say that the bent car in front of me is bent.
You disagree?
Non-thread. Apparently, this isn't a problem and you're a cnut for thinking it is. Also, they only bend if you use your hands to the point of them trembling you're trying so hard. So it can't have happened during normal use.
FLOL
I hope you get it sorted and that Apple admit they royally...
No, put like that of course it's not really a surprise.
What is surprising is that Apple would allow something that has to withstand the rigours of daily life and usage, their premium product, to hit the market when clearly it's not up to the task if it deforms so easily.
Should it be made...
Why does anyone have a problem with this being highlighted?
Have Apple products bent before?
Do other brands have a history of bending? I'm not aware but then I don't follow the market day by day so there may well be loads out there that do?
Seems to me that Apple's pursuit of the perfect...
That's what you/they were all saying about the 4 until the 5 came along, then you/they were saying the exact same thing about the 5 until the 6 came along.
Apple have really thrown a spanner into it the works now though LOL
I predict 6 v 6+ wars in due course.
25,000 mile second service today...
The detached driver's door seal has been, from what I can tell, Evo-stuck back in place. That'll do, looks as if it's been done well enough. The front suspension knock has been cured by "re-torquing all of the key suspension components". Good.
All else...
I don't get this either. With vast, almost unusable, data allowances and solid fast coverage almost everywhere, streeeeeeaaaaaaaam.
I have a 180gb iPod Classic, used to take it everywhere with me but it's only for car use now, and then, the only reason is for the voice control.
The rest of the...
Received today, very impressed with it, accessory bundle is well thought out and overall quality, packaging, presentation etc. is very good.
I'll try and have a good thrash in the car on the way home tonight - will see if it's been a worthwhile investment!
