Really rubbish?
I rated them when I ran my 172 cup. You have to accept there's a fair bit of movement from the sidewalls, but given that, they hang on really well and don't tear themselves apart no matter how much you abuse them or how hot you get them. Another plus is that when they let go...
I get that totally, that's why I rolled naked with my first Nexus 5. Until I dropped it.
£280 (less XS) later and the new one's been in its case ever since.
...then there's also this one, the Tascam DR-05.
This one does seem to be the better performer, it's only a few pounds more compared to the Zoom H1, and the Tascam does have a lot more settings you can play with.
Having said that, this guy and a few others I've seen all seem to favour/use...
I had mine freeze for the first time today. It powered up when I started the engine but just sat with the startup image and red LED illuminated. I disconnected the power lead but it stayed in the same state until the battery completely died.
i just reconnected and tried it again and...
I think it would benefit from a little less restriction on 1 and 2 too, it would certainly feel it bit more lively...and I'm happy using my right foot to control the urge. Maybe once I'm out of warranty in another 75k miles I'll explore that further LOL
Well, if anyone's interested, this is the one I think I'll be going for...from what I can tell using the second line in gives you two separate audio tracks so I can capture in-car and under bonnet/exhaust and mix them :approve:
Do you really have to re-buy apps when you change handset?
I've had three Android phones and my original purchased apps are still there, automatically downloaded and setup every time I change device.
This doesn't happen with Apple?
I'm amazed if that's the case.
Generally, no, I keep them and extract maximum value out of them...I had 125k out of my Cup over 8 years.
He he he, glad it's entertaining David, watching the frenzy of hype in here...over something that really should be so insignificant to everyone. I love what Apple have achieved and laugh at...
You don't get it. It's not just a phone, it's a lifestyle statement, it says to everyone that you rock/win at everything. You can hold your head up high when you walk down the street with an iPhone in your pocket and be the envy of all your friends/non-iPhone owning losers.
That and the fact...
Does anyone have any experience with these?
I'm looking for something to capture a good quality two-channel audio input, captured from in-built mics or a separate mic/line-in.
I'm thinking the standard dictaphone/voice recorder isn't ideal as they're geared specifically for voice only whereas...
Not at all! For the record I'm very pro-Apple myself, I like their products, I like their build quality, I like their UI.
But I can see beyond that and see that there are real alternatives out there, genuine alternatives that from a UI perspective have caught up and surpassed what Apple have to...
All valid points, I'm not saying they're perfect, but I can genuinely see them as being part of the mainstream future and hardware improvements will address a lot of the issues you've highlighted.
Will be interesting to look back into this thread in 5 years time. I have my humble pie ready...
How is this any different to the comparison of spending £300 on an iPad which does exactly (less actually) what your laptop does so well? Why would you buy one? All it gives you is convenience and speed in a slightly watered down version of what you already have...the same as these 'watches' do...
