Did you test if the bendix was working before you put the new one in?
Starter switch may have gone, I know this is common on some VW's but never heard of it on a clio.
To check if the switch has gone you could put a piece of wire between the spade terminal on the starter and the + on the...
Ticking could be valve clearance or just rubbish oil but it's nothing I would worry about.
Tensioner sounds a bit ropey to me.
Cambelt and wp should cure.
edit:assume you're also have aux belt done
as everyone else has said
1 is yes
2 - rs tuner not for your car and a whiteline would serve no purpose
3 - I've done it but I don't recommend it. You can't use the panel to control your existing set up
True, forgot about the ph1 shafts
Cory I think between all that you've got all the info you need to sort that out.
If you chuck second hand stuff on I'd expect it to cost you around £300.
Chip, you've sorted the gearbox query! Does the 1.2 have a place to mount the central o/s driveshaft bearing carrier. My DCI didn't and hence I had to get a 172 cup shaft (no bearing carrier)
If I'd put that much work into a car, chopping it in to just get a 172 wouldn't even enter my head ! :D
Not sure of the gearbox/engineblock set up on a 1.2 but it should be fairly similar.
Quick note on ABS. If you have 44 tooth ABS you will need to get rear sensors from renault from a clio 1.6 which doesn't have esp and also swap the plugs around (left to right and right to left). I didn't have...
Yeah I did that and it came up with both!
I'll be able to spot the normal filter easily. Where is the paper one in the housing? detest paper filter housings!
The car isn't in front of me at the moment annoyingly.
Servicing a 2001 1.2 shortly.
Been shopping around for the parts and it seems there are multiple different oil filters.
Does anyone know where these different types are as the internet isn't being particularly helpful.
Cheers
That flywheel a TTV one? Such great pieces of engineering to look at.
Think they are apex, known for being a little crashy. Sure the knocking isn't the rear bumpstops bottoming out?
Decat makes a huge difference. I'm sure you'll run with it all the time bar that 1 day a year!
Bet that guy in...
No reprogramming. They aren't wired in in the 182, just a mechanical device. Some cars have rear pretensioners on the belts.
Take the rear door card off.
Front belts, undo the torx on the belt rail. Rotate the rail 90 degrees and pull out. Torx bit on the belt mech, bolt on the top clamp...
There is no set rule on this, it's at the discretion of the tester.. If there car is extremely modified for track/motorsport use then it won't fail as there is a specific clause to exempt these types of car. It is more likely to fail as a standard road car without a bag but as said doesn't...
piotres most of the info you need in there http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?706953-FN10-Sealing-Selector-Installation-questions I've heard it's highly recommended although have never done it myself.
Yes
if you lift the gear gaiter and look on the left of of the selector mechanism you can see a raised section that prevents you from moving the gearstick over without lifting. You could sand/cut it to a lower point so you don't have to. Otherwise shorten the section which lifts under the...
If you are unlucky enough to damage either of those in an accident your car's going to be written off anyway. With the exhaust a standard system costs more than an aftermarket one so it would be better to take a cash in lieu based on OEM parts costs.
To perform a configuration dashboard, follow the essential steps below:
1 - Make a multiplex network test and ensure compliance. If the multiplex network is not
compliant (see MR multiplexing). 2 -. Disconnect then reconnect the battery 3 - Connect the diagnostic tool. 4 - Make a "test...
ohhh that's cool. Really need to do mine. Are they all plcc-2?
Had a look at the window switches the other day and they seem to be a small bulb on 2 long wires.
Oh definitely. It also took much less time and went very smoothly. Could very easily make retrofit kits for this which I'm considering. I might redo mine at somepoint just to make it look a little more of an OEM install. Mine looks like a phone junction box compared to this one!
I think I found...
Couple of bits done today. Not on my car but Lauren's.
Retrofitted cruise control to hers, fitted silver surround clocks, variable intermittant wipers and some hub caps (finally)
Cruise control works absolutely fine but it's not showing up on the display. AlexW how did you sort this? I haven't...
Shops on the highstreet are 3 things; stuff you can't buy online (coffee, veg etc), stuff which cost too much to post (99p stores, builders merchants) and a front to a much larger online business.
I would love to have a shop which sells highly specialised detailing and car products close to me...
I've never worked on one but my internet knowledge leads me to believe it will be the same engine but you need a different gear selector, master cylinder and as Matt says, driveshafts. Don't forget the body control module from the megane will differ from the clio so you'd need to sort that out.
I'm not entirely clued up how the EGR system is on the DCI but it does have benefits when the car is cold.
That DCI thread looks interesting and like a good fix. Love how clogged up the pipe was.
PS I'm sitting in front of a load of cruise control wiring ready for tomorrow! my first ph3...
