Cheers for the info, yeah the music should be a breeze fingers crossed lol.
Hmmm Handbrake seems a good bet, but has anyone else looked at this and found any other software that can get the features off etc?
Checked a week or so ago and couldn't get an untethered jailbreak yet on 4.2.1 or whatever the newest iOS is for ATV, but when I can I will be using xmbc, would like to be able to play the rips on xbox too.
Yeah it sounds like I do. I'd like to keep the special features etc for some films too which makes it harder to decide how to rip them. I've got 427 DVDs and about 30-40 blurays, the blurays I'm not gonna bother with at the mo, it's the DVDs that are taking up space.
How does handbrake handle...
Yeah I know it will take a loooonng time but i'm prepared for that, I used to use a neat bit of software a few years back which ripped them as an iso iirc, so it took very little time to pull the film off. would I be able to play iso's through my other equipment?
I've got VLC on my iPad but not...
I recently purchased a NAS to store all my music/photos etc on. I can stream stuff to my iphone/ipad using the NAS software.
What I want to do is rip all my dvds (over 400) to my NAS, but i'm not sure which format to do it in, to play nice with my Apple TV2, Xbox 360, iPhone, iPad etc.
I...
its actually half way through the agreement, which for me is now.
The shitty thing is now you can only drop down one step in the tariffs for the entire life of the contract, you used to be able to drop, wait one month then drop again etc.
The only thing i cant see is ITS on the new tariffs
lol, i usually sell my old iPhones and offset it, that way I dont have to keep a phone for too long and lose money on it.
it's all about how desperate you are to get a new bit of tech anyway lol.
Yeah, i'm just "chatting" with a advisor.
Cant decide whether to go for 500mb or 1GB data, i dont use much at the mo but with tethering i may be inclined to use it more often. hmmm
I see you've gone for no data?
Tethering is great news tbh.
Judging by those contracts I easily reduce mine by a tenner a month and still get enough mins and txts.
Tom, can you update your contract to a new tariff for the remainder of the contract or does it start a new one?
Looks ok, I expect despite the band to hold the front cover against the iPad, after time the whole front cover will want to sit up and look s**t. You can see it's started to already in the photos.
Anybody else seen THIS neat little trick?
Downloaded Xcode yesterday and set the iPad up, its a very useful addition and definitely sets a precedent to do away with the home button on future devices.
Ah ok.
Having a wifi iPad it'd be useful at times to hotspot using my iPhone but I cant even find the bolt on on o2's site even if I were stupid enough to pay it!
Iirc ebuyer had a 1TB western digital drive yesterday for not a lot.
Here's a link to everything they have

Lol, It was to keep him quiet! Time capsule's look good but they aren't exactly feature packed!
Just google Time Machine backup devices, should throw a few out there.
If you're bothered about power consumption my NAS only pulls 35w and I'm sure the WD pulls about the same. And they're a lot more compact to hide than a pc even one running a mini atx and case to match.
As I said, they're very good ;) bit out of my price range when all I need was access to about 280GB of music and photos, when I can be bothered to start ripping 450 DVD's and Blurays I'll have to expand to at least a 4 Bay in Raid 1
Yeah bought from ebuyer, and yes you get a free 1TB Seagate drive to match the one in the machine. its a redemption offer, cut the barcode from the box, fill out a form and send it off. allows you to then either RAID 1 or 0.
Going back to your original question, the WD My Book Live will do...
Yeah I went with this specific one
I was looking at the Western Digital 2TB World Book Edition II but had read reviews stating it was poor at HD Streaming. The Netgear was very little difference in price and has good reviews across the net. the software you can download also makes it a good...
