    I modified my 172 Cup to make it faster around a track. Then I realised doing that was a complete waste of time. Car became less fun to own. I've learned my lesson, the 200's staying 100% standard.

    I personally went as deep as I could as I had my arse on the floor of the car, came down the windscreen almost half way. I ran opaque ones, started with yellow, then orange, then white, then decided to go for matt black so it wasn't so noticeable.

    Sunstrip is your friend. You just have to accept that the 5-0 may take an interest in you, and you'll likely have to strip it off at each MOT. I couldn't find any other way around it myself. Never got pulled either.

    General consensus on here I think you'll find will be that your car with a few stone chips will look approximately 1,000,000 times better than it will with a bonnet bra. Burn it I say.

    Will fit fine. Did this to my 172 Cup at 107k miles and ran it to 120k before I sold it without issue. As above though, you'll lose all speed readings and trip calculations etc.

    I'd advise caution. The MkII jacks had/have a slot/recess in the top for the jacking point rail to sit into. On the MkIIIs, it's the opposite way around, there's a recess at each corner beneath the sill, and the top of the jack seats into that. So using a MkII to jack up a MkIII would give...

    All depends on how deep your pockets are. Easily tuneable these French pocket rockets are not. To get a genuine 200bhp you're looking realistically at cams and ITBs, so budget around about £3k - £5k.

The sets I ran on my Cup were as soft as any tyre I've ever tried, hard on the brakes in a straight line on track and the car would be moving about all over the place.     Weighed a wheel from my 172 Cup and it was 17-18 kgs from memory. As for weights, I think the 'published' figures from Renault are; Phase 1 = 1,035 kgs. 172 Cup = 1,021 kgs.

    I think the monitor is a good call. Gimmicky though it may be, it is functional, unlike a lot of the (far more expensive) options that CS deems essential!

    Why all the talk about auxiliary belts? OP was asking about cambelt change intervals wasn't he? Re the cambelt, as already said 5 years is max. Any more and you're running a material risk of failure. There's been two on here fail in as many weeks recently IIRC. Your choice, but I know what I'd do.

    I was passed by a matt black wrapped Passat tonight on the way back from Brands. There are not enough words available for me to use to describe how sh*t it looked. If you did your Clio, I'm sure a few teens might think wow for 10 seconds, but most will look at it and think WTF/plum.
