It's all to do with the lambda sensor. Some are more tempramental than others.
If yours does come on it's an easy enough fix. Just pop into a garage with diagnostics equipment and get them to remove the fault.
Use the search function my dear friend. Threads on induction kits are probably the single most duplicated on this forum.
On a 1.4 though it's only going to be about the noise (even on 1*2s this is most often the case) so a K&N will suit you fine. Plenty of them on the 'bay.
Sportlines are 30 - 35mm. Apex are 40.
On a non RS model it's only worth lowering with drops of 60mm and beyond.
If you want coilovers though just save a bit longer. I've not had my Apex springs 6 months and I've already ordered some coilovers. I could have saved £60 if I'd have been patient.
As a guide, I paid £3,995 for my Y-Reg Flamer. Admitedly, it was about 9 months ago before car prices began to fall but then it did only have 54k on the clock. For an eight/nine year old car I was getting a bargain, especially as the garage met me half way on the cost of a new cam belt.
I'm looking into getting some spacers. I know the centre-ring is 60.1 but the blurb states that the alloys must have a centre-bore of 72.6. Does this sound right?
I've still got some SRP but always keen to try new things so went for some of the Clearkote stuff as a comparison.
Having never clayed my car before I've nothing to compare against the Sonus bits I've bought but i'm sure, as a detailing noob, I'll get on okay :)
£400 - epic bit of spending there mate.
Funnily enough I was just oggling over your motor in that 'Show me your 182s' thread. What have you bought to clean it then?!
Doh, too late!
Thanks though Rich. Should all be with me in time for a Bank Holiday Monday clean after this weekend's stag do to Blackpool.
Four and a half hour drive each way :nono: .
I seeee!!
I was under the inpression that a sealent was a 'modern' wax for those in a bit more of a rush (hence the spray bottles as opposed to tins).
This is all a bit new to me but I'm learning.
What is it about the Sonus range (including the clay) that you're not a fan of? Similarly, why not the car-lack?
Would you say a sealent was a better option than a wax?
I've just been browsing on cleanyourcar.co.uk and have thrown this little lot in the basket. The only thing missing is the snow foam but cleanyourcar don't sell the Bilt Hamber stuff.
What do you all reckon?
If you take the inlet manifold/plenum off you're more than likely going to have to replace the intake gaskets.
I sprayed mine whilst it was still fitted and just made sure I'd secured newspaper to cover the rest of the engine bay.
I do mate, yeah.
Your silver mirrors would go with the Sunflower's alloys and with a bit of yellow detail elsewhere, the Sunflower's mirror coveres would look smart against your silver.
