If you don't like the Abs then the 172 cup doesn't have Abs so can't be to hard to swap over, start a post asking for some one with a dianostics like one called Clip which is a renault one would save time and money with a few fault codes

I'd take a look at the cam belt see if it's skipped any teeth, If not I'd buy a compression test kit and see what the score

Most good garages will charge from about £140-£180 to take the gearbox off and on then it's just the price of the clutch

Bias valve like wilwood take a lot of setting up and I think would be only good for the track, not normally worth messing with a good brake set up like the cup unless your just put 4 pots on the front, to much rear and the back will just over take the front most times it just game over
