2nd car.
I've got a 1.6 Focus that has done 115k miles, feels like it's easily got another 115k miles still to go, is worth £1,500 or maybe £1,700 tops, costs pennies to run, and driving sanely or otherwise it gives as many smiles per mile as my Cup.
Jeans/t-shirt for me so I get the choice...
Weight affects acceleration...not top speed...i.e. how long it takes to reach top speed, but not ultimately the top speed itself.
Technically you would/could have been going faster with the weight than without it, as it would reduce the frontal drag area by lowering the car.
If it was for road only the only thing I'd do is the lines - standard brakes are more than capable, but the lines would improve the pedal feel.
Save yourself some money, changes the lines, give it a flush/bleed with some decent fluid and stick with standard pads/discs.
Got my Focus day-to-day so used to some comfort.
It won't stay too standard for long though. Just going to wait for them to start filtering through used. Once there's enough choice I'm having one.
Trouble is I think I'll have difficulty finding one specced without Recaros or aircon and with...
If you watch this shameless ASW video loud and through headphones you can hear the V6 airbox as I floor mine towards the camera a few times (best is at 1:50), I think it sounds mint.
Along with removing the power steering, fitting this improved my RR figures at Surrey RR by 10bhp...so about...
You are so so wrong!
How does that work then? Brakes aren't safe for slowing cars down? Agreed you shouldn't stand on them at 70mph...squeeze on and ease off is what you should be doing...
You should not use the gears when slowing a car - 99.9% of the motoring populous have no idea what...
I don't get the lack of love for these wheels?
OK, they're nothing special, but what's so bad about them?
Wasn't long ago amphasite was the ONLY colour to have...
Had a good blast out in it yesterday. If I didn't have a f***ed foot :( he'd have let me give it some death across the downs.
Feels incredible as a passenger, as comfortable as my Focus, yet as fidgety and tight as my Cup only more so, no body roll, and more grip than you'll ever need.
My mate got the correct spoiler fitted yesterday after a dealership mix-up...I think I'm in lurve and now thinking how much I could get for my lovely mint condition well cared for 172 Cup LOL. The 200 Cup's run in now so had a proper run out in it, I want one, badly.
You should avoid using engine braking to slow the car, engine and gears are to go, brakes are to slow .
How much is a new gearbox/clutch? How much are new brake pads/discs? I know which I'd much rather pay for and get changed!
As far as getting through pads so quickly, (sticking calipers...
