i wouldn't let them carry out the work at that price though, i would take it to a renault specialist even if it means travelling. i personally doubt its the ecu although its not unheard of, sounds like they have said it as an easy answer.
looks like a damaged rear bumper, 182's have some problems with the exhausts and it may be that its been repaired/some part replaced and its not fitted up quite right, the claims of a bent chassis etc are utter rubbish and even if it was it wouldn't have effect on those areas imo.
thats a bit of a bold claim, most are just as good at the genuine parts these days, they have come on a lot in recent years with regards to fit and quality.
Non gen parts are been used more and more widely by insurers approved repair shops, the non genuine company usually do 2 of each part...
nearly always a furred up plug and / or lightboard. if you find its the problem i can supply plug with a piece of loom and the lightboard for 16 delivered :D
depends on the car. some can get you a nice car for a lot less money, just beware of the cost of parts for some brands/models. they appear thousands cheaper but the repair bills mount up quick. Just like buying any car, go and look at it and if your not knowledgeable take somebody that is with you.
