I think Nimbus was a run of the mil colour mate!
I think in the 182's the 'ID' colours (the 1k options) were LY and Petrol and the 197/200's were LY, AG and possibly the Pearl White! I think GW also has a premium but it is nothing like the others!
Didnt the LY's go off to get painted at a different factory hence the stupid option cost? Perhaps things were done differently where they were painted!
One thing i will say against them is paint doesnt seem to be as good as on the 182's!
After 6 years and 30k i think my LY had less chips on the front and door strips than the 15 month old 197 i have now on under 7k!
Everytime i look at the front after a run theres a new black spot arrived...
No not really!
I dont know how you can give a fair indication on how well its built if you've only been in one once or twice!
It was the first paragraph i was aiming my question at anyway hence asking about whether you have owned a new RS as to be frank they do feel a hell of alot better...
Iv owned a mk 1 16V (2 years), 182 (4years) and 197 (a month) and it doesnt take a rocket scientist to realsise that comparing the mk 3's to the older cars are like comparing new Audis to old Skodas!
I booked a TD up a good few years ago on a 197 based on just sitting in it in the showroom...
LOL - Its falsely selling something as something which it isnt but that doesnt matter!
I would be wanting my money back if i was short changed on the the new Turbo'd Cooper S tbh! ;)
LOL - This was where i got confused as the S stood for Supercharged or so i have always been lead to believe!
Taking the Supercharger away but still calling it the same thing doesnt make sense to me.
Call me thick but what is the point of turbo'ing a Cooper S if theres still no gains?
Im not mechanical minded but i didnt even think an S could be Turbo charged!? :S
We have an 07 plate Cooper S in our family and although the noise it makes is nice on full beans it is nowhere near as quick as my old 182!
A ph2 172 would probably just have the edge on one i think.
That was my way of thinking! At least theres one other like minded!
Yes using pictures that aint your own may be wrong but if McMillian hadnt advised you otherwise the car was obviously nice enough to be bought as you had been and looked at it in the flesh!
I cant get my nut round how...
Your probably right but depends in the person I suppose!
Standard cups are identical so if it were my car/pics it would be a 'meh' as they say on here from me.
The trouble with the 500's and the Twingos are that they area total different car! Its like comparing the Clio to the Meg or an Astra VXR, Focus ST etc!
Its a step backward in the hot hatch market imo.
