I think ph1's should stay standard looking if you want it to look like a ph2 buy a ph2. Modify ph2's all you want theres plenty around.
Look at other marques its always the the first models that are more popular in years to come. a prime example of this is the series 1 rs turbo
Mate if its a write off buy it back. I bought mine back for £560 and then sold everything off it and made a nice tidy proffit as well as the payout. I ended up being able to buy another ph1 and now i have spare engine, gearbox and all running gear.
Cheer for all the great comments. I'll do a progress thread on the black one eventually as i've got plenty to do with it. Its already strripped out and all sound deadening removed and its on sportlines now. I've got some bucket seats to go in and lots of other bits and pieces to change. It'll...
I've still got that picture on my other computer next time i'm on it i'll post it up.
As for the damage i went on to the motorway backwards as i aquaplaned at the top of a sliproad. luckily no one else was involved. the car still ran and mechanically there was nothing wrong but got written off...
it's in the backyard but its been stripped. the engines out and everything from in side its gone. i just want the subframes off it and bits like the fuel tank and lines etc before i scrap the shell. i'll be gutted when its finally gone but it may make me put some effort into the new one then.

In its prime
After the crash
Its replacement

I miss that blue one and...
I've got two cars and i think its the way forward. even though the clio is not much quicker than my vectra its more of a drivers car and i look forward to driving it at weekends and evenings
They seem to have gone back up recently a while back there were a load of cheap ones about. Its since petrol went back down. i just got it at the right time.
i wouldn't buy one that price as a daily driver. i've got new driveshafts to go on it and all new engine mounts. if it has had the...
Does look good that but is too expensive. Go in with an offer of £2500 if they don't take it walk away as there are plenty of others about. i picked a really good one up for £1400 it was high mileage but everything was recorded serviced by the same renault garage all its life and had all the...
I did better :)
realistically you could break it but not really much point as it looks like it could make a good cheap toy. i broke my crashed one and made £500 selling off all the crap i didn't need and it left me with all the running gear as spare for the bargain one i bought
It happened to my mates williams. we had just picked up the cambelt kit from a mate to be fitted and he dropped me off at home two minutes later i get a call saying the belt had snapped :(
