Having had PE2s and the eagle Fls i certainly prefer the handling on the the goodyear eagles its a lot more predictable. On the PE2 it would grip and grip and then let go where as the goodyear let go a lot more progressively.
You need to fit one of those small pipercross filters over the end. They do them in halfords for about £11. gaz has one on his as he made his own induction routing.
This was my argument when i said that my vectra didn't seem any slower than the clio across country lanes. I think a lot of it is down to the driver now rather than the cars.
Having spent some time cleaning the old boy its come up alright, I managed to take loads of pics so here a just a few. You can also play spot the spare car parts in the reflections :rasp:
I would like to say that i hadn't actually finished cleaning it at this point but as i wanted a...
I had this problem on the old ph1 the driver side front had siesed completly so was giving un even braking. I ended up changing the calliper as we managed to snap the slider it cost me £10 from a scrapyard i got it of a 2.0 laguna as they use the same calliper.
You know i wouldn't do that. I meant it as sell anything that is easy to get hold of, its not easy to know that engines and gearboxes are good especially if you know you have just had the cambelt and service done on it. Interiors, wheels and panels come up all the time.
Do what i did and buy it back sell all the crap bits like interior, engine covers and other bits that people want. And keep the engine, gear box and running gear and buy another cheap one with the insurance money. That way you have lots of spares if the cheap one goes wrong.
I wouldn't pay more than 2.5k. Its not worth paying over the odds for a low mileage one as they usually end up needing just as much work as higher mileage ones. It mainly only wear and tear parts that goes i've got a ph1 on 112k and its needed rear dampers, a coolant pipe and an exhaust. these...
The front bumper unpainted from renault is £700 the total repair bill would have been over 2k. I did consider getting it fixed myself as a mate works in a bodyshop but it still wouldn't have been much less than the quoted 2k. The black replacement 172 only cost £1400 so it wasn't worth it.
If its still there when i get home from work tommorow i'll get the wiring for you and maybe the caps if i've not lost them. the scuttle panels fooked though i just snapped it off as i didn't need it
This car will be a small cube tommorow it is a very Sad day. I'm considering ringing the Sun and getting a front page story. Anyway the pictures
