What specs are your PC?
The only thing I think you'd find a restriction on with a Mac is the native screen resolution on a laptop. My brother works in graphic design and usually runs a seperate monitor from his mac book pro.
I think the days of Adobe programmes running better on Macs have...
I think you need to let us know what the computer is being used for, if it's just for browsing the net and a bit of photo editting a mac mini shall be fine. Pretty expensive way of doing it though.
Great minds and all that, Iain.
I'd go as low ISO as you can, high ISO and movement really don't mix and you'll struggle to get any sharp shots due to the amount of noise. To make sure you get some keepers start off at maybe 1/500. Then work your way down to about 1/125. Not sure what aperture your lense goes down to but aim...
I have no experience of SSD's. I couldn't justify the minimal performance increase for the cost, but then again seeing as you decided to blow another £600 in about a minute they could be just the ticket for you! Lol.
I'd imagine you'll need another cable as sky+ & HD needs 2 feeds. I'd think they'll replace your dish as well to make sure you get the best quality signal.
My Dad tried that, they treat you like an existing customer if you cancel then try and sign back up. I think you have to wait at least a...
I didn't realise you'd stumped up for a QX9650 Roy. Somehow missed that.
Theres not that much between that and a core i7 in games at the moment, maybe 1-2 fps in crysis. I'd not be upgrading for a while.
He'll pawn you in any encoding Roy, but as above, I think games shall be a very close thing!
If you look at most benchmarks even at std clock speeds the 920 is quicker than most. Even a modest overclock to 3.2 shall own pretty much anything else!
If your in a newsagents have a glance at the CPU guide in CustomPC magazine, that shows how good overclocked i7's are!
Ah man, I really don't know what to do. I'd really miss remote record from sky, but like the sound of virgin on demand.
I suppose if I really hate virgin, I can swap back in 12 months.
Not interested in dodgey boxes really.
That doesn't sound good Mace. I hate having to chase things like that! My brother went 2 months without internet, which also worries me.
Had mine changed yeasterday. It's only a certain batch that is being replaced. Got 3months free HD subscription and new 12 month warranty. The guy was rushed off his feet though, he had 5 replacement boxes and 7 new HD installations all on a Sunday as well.
I'm going to speak to them this afternoon as my house has never had cable before. They are offering £50 for ordering online though.
My brother has one of the new V+ box's, whilst I prefer the sky EPG, the new virgin one is getting better.
Can you use 3rd eyes with Virgin?
I think it's about £15. The lack of football on setanta is whats worrying me, I've been googling the 09/10 footy rights but I'm struggling to make out what sky or setanta actually have.
I can't make my mind up if it's worth nearly halving my monthly bill but having a lack of footy.
My contract has expired with Sky, currently on the full package except Movies, costs £59 per month inc. line rental. I want to try and reduce my outgoings a bit as I'm fed up of paying £60 a month when I only really watch the footy and use the internet. I'm thinking of downgrading to 4 mixes...
I've done one, results turned out well. I thought it was a nightmare though. I hated most of it. I've been asked to do another but I've ended up declining. The stress just isn't worth it for £100 - £200 IMO.
Good luck, I hope you have decent glass to go with the D300.
Lol, you do have to draw the line somewhere. It'd be very easy to make it unuseable for daily driving.
Hadn't thought about the insurance side of things really.
