Millage is not a problem at all. I dunno why peopel always think high milage = bad.... The car as mentioned is nearly 6years old. Average millage these days is 12-15k As logn as its been maintained properly there shoudl be no real issue why you cant keep going on.

Starter Motor on these are quite common. Exchange replacements around £65. Check the connectors on yours tho, maybe corroded.

I still say a ph2 (non-rs) bumper at the back colour coded. Its not a ph1 and its not as square as the ph2 RS bumper... No ones done that yet!

Sounds like it could be the wiring loom above the ECU, very common problem.

Come down a little then. Just found a quote from Renault dated 11/05/2005 ECU - £584 +VAT Loom - £136.45 +VAT

Seems like the bolts were the wrong size or not done up properly. Did they shear off ?? If they were the wrong size they would have seemed to have tighten up but would have been an accident waiting to happen. Unlucky tho :(

Thats very cheap including using the CliP machine! Its an arse of a job re-soldering each individual wire in the loom. With hardly any room to get to them. Also there is a replacement (modified) loom with new top and bottom bracket to replace the old one.

Not a regular check Renault do. This was a known issue previously by them. The replacement loom is modified slightly to help with this altho they wont admit any responsibility about it.

Prevention - Yes! Remove the black box cover. Add more tape to the wiring loom (do NOT disconnect while battery is connected) I added some washer hose cut in half over the metal box. This stops the edge cutting into the loom. Replace the box making sure its secure (wont cut the loom as much)...

It is a costly job. Renault prices will be v.high. See if you can find a specialist or an independant company who deals with wiring looms. It WILL require a CliP Rest after tho....

No, this does not work really. There are too many wires in the loom to make this work properly. You will have to cut more to get access. The only way is to replace the loom. The fault as mentioned lies on the black box that sits there to protect it. The metal edge cuts into the loom and also...

Costly & common problem. Needs a new wiring loom replacement. The loom itself is approx £148.65+VAT and your looking at a similar amount in labour to fit (non Renault) No other way around this. Also after fitting the car will need a full CliP Reset using Renault machine, at probably there...

You can..... BUT you need a second feed from the dish to your box. If you know what your doing its pretty easy job. If you only use it with one feed to your box you will only have 1 tuner active. So can only record 1 item etc... I got mine totally free last year as Daz mentioned on the...
