Yeah the car came with them, but I’m no stranger to Brembo judder from my old man’s Evo days.
He used to kill a set of discs every track day until he went AP front and rear.
I would steer clear of cheaper BBKs, AP/Alcon only tbh.
But, until I can afford BBK the girodisc seems a very good...
I am very very very impressed with my girodisc floaters up front. The biggest killer for Evo front brakes is heat.
The giro floaters haven’t started juddering in all the abuse I throw at them, even an august track day they were rock solid all day.
Less impressed with the dust and noise of the...
I ran mine up the back roads from Amersham to Silverstone yesterday, so good to get out in it.
Sadly I was there for business and not track stuff.
New exhaust bits going on this weekend to bring it down from ~100dB drive by.
Find the nicest Golf GTI DSG you can find for 20k?
Et voila:

Can't remember if 182/172 have them, on the back of disc a metal plate that's meant to sheild heat and debris.
Stones get stuck betweent the sheild and disk, and start sounding horrific. Gentle push on the sheild and out they pop.
I suppose it depends how it was imported, on the SVA / type-approval / co2 readings, I couldn't even tell you from memory what my UK 6 V5/C says.
Yeah, unless its throwing loads of fuel down the exhaust, for the lols.
With the vibratecnics engine and gearbox mount, the dog bone is largely irrelevant.
Best 300 quid I spent on the car, in fact no, best thing I ever did to the car.
Gearstick doesn’t move a millimetre under accel or decel, which should tell you all you need to know.
If anyone is interested, I’ve got a few Corsair Dominator DDR4 2666MHz 8GB dimms available, will sell in 16/32/64 GB kits.

They’ve only seen about an hour of light use.
My own Evo heritage is pretty good...
In 1999 my Dad had a VI GSR brand new in Icelle Blue, I was 14. (He replaced an M.A.D. spec Escort Cosworth with the Evo.) Then I turned 17 and I was fortunate enough to be let loose in it insurance wise, nice company car loop hole the old man had. Then...
Hah, my wife won't even sit in it, never has. I've had it 16 months now.
Being a hoot, it's 19 years old this year. I'm sure a new S3 would give good chase, but be dull as f**k in comparison.
Yeah neither do most owners, until it's too late.
When they're working though, I swear only something really special can touch one on the road. I took mine to have the aux pulleys changed on Monday, early morning, low temps, dry, it was in its element.
This was just posted over on MLR, nice little read about the VI and it’s changes for the Group A / WRC in 99.

And, the best picture in...
Anyone played with a Corsair One System?
I’ve got a couple to play with at work, they seem decently built but so expensive when you compare to building your own.
8700K, 1080ti, 32GB @ 3200.
I really need to get my exhaust re-packed. The system itself is a Mongoose which is still in good shape - but it's had 10 years of use so I doubt there's anything left in the silencers.
If this snow and ice and grit could just jog on, that would be grand.
Precisely! Mines had it all stripped off and reapplied a couple of times in its two decades on the roads. They will ALL do it, it’s just how much of a catalyst you are in terms of grit and salt exposure.
Melting snow must’ve washed a load away, and mild temps up until the weekend should mean no more salt. He says.
I need to get my exhaust looked at before I go near a track again. After 10 years of spitting and flaming I don’t think there’s anything left in the silencers.
