I think these cars need the cup spoiler in all cases! How do you find it compared to the 172? More sure footed and stable?

Just checked on the box. Apparantly they fit a phase 2 clio but only up to the year 2003 and mines a 2004.

Any truth in this as I have a set of brembos in the shed. So will hang on to them if they fit.

What is it you don't like about the spax?

I can't wait to drive the 172 when I get it tomorrow. I've kind of not hype it up too much in my head though. The fastest things I've driven recently (that ive owned anyway) are 106 gti and a Twingo rs. So the performance isnt going to be massively different. The extra torque might be nice though :)

Just what I got rid of lol 106 is probably better on track but 172's are better all rounders.

They are bad for it. It should have around 197bhp but probably made 190 as its new.

I would buy one if they were 172 prices. Quite why someone would buy one unless they are absolutely minted is beyond me...why would you spend so much on a Clio? This reminds me of 106 rallye owners gushing about how much lighter they are than gti's........when its just the same stuff taken out of it as you can to do a gti. I agree. Just get a 172. Sunroofed cars are a pain in the ass!!

Thanks for the replies! I had Bilstein B8's on the old saxo are these similar in any way (apart from them being coilovers) the b8's were a little stiff imo for the road but then a saxo and clio are two very different cars. Just waiting on the call....hopefully won't be a bag of s**t when I go...

Hi, Should hopefully be getting a 172 either today or at least very soon! I've previously owned various saxo/106's and have also owned a Twingo 133 (sport) which I loved but was ultimately a bit slow. Thought the suspension on track was pretty perfect if im honest and was also very comfortable...

How is the spax suspension? When I get my 172 Iplan on some sort of uprated suspension but not sure which to get.
