So I've had it less than a week and I love it to be honest! Its definately fast enough (for now) the real problem I am having at the moment is learning its handling as I just can't to get a driving position that allows
*pedals to be in a nice position
*steering wheel to be in a nice position...
Had my 172 sport just under a week and find thr standard seats while comfy don't really offer the support I need.
As its such a nice comfy car I dont think I want to go the whole hog and have fixed buckets with harnesses on both sides as this will make the rear seats unuseable. This is daily so...
I agree. I can tell underneath is a lovely handling car just desperate to shine through! Considering the work thats been done to the car im surprised they put budgets on...im assuming it was cos his wife used it.
This is my first and I need some new tyres desperately! Its rained and these brand new budgets the car came with are dreadful. Like really really bad... My boggo 106 can take roundabouts quicker and thats on budgets too!!
My brother also commented that it looks like a normal clio and that I...
I had my first proper blast tonight. On the roll and going balls out I think its a genuinly fast car. Driving position and steering wheel make me a lack a little confidence in it though.
Went out for a blast but phone died. No pics.
Changed my my mind! It feels FAST!
Possibly doesnt feel like it handles as well as my old Twingo did, possibly feels less stable. Tgis could be due to going a fair bit faster  or could be due to the horrendous tyres on the car. Understeer is...
Just bought myself a nice little silver 172.
Its on 76k and has had
New alternator
New battery
New (s**t) tyres lol
New pas pump
All belts done and rebuilt head (where previous owner neglected to do the cam belt)
Refurbed factory alloys
New suspension spring (where it was stoof for a while)
Got...
I can't wait to drive the 172 when I get it tomorrow. I've kind of not hype it up too much in my head though. The fastest things I've driven recently (that ive owned anyway) are 106 gti and a Twingo rs. So the performance isnt going to be massively different. The extra torque might be nice though :)
I would buy one if they were 172 prices. Quite why someone would buy one unless they are absolutely minted is beyond me...why would you spend so much on a Clio? Hot hatches are becoming sports cars nowadays with price tags ti matchm A decent hot hatch should cost no more than 15 grand brand new imo
I was under the impression the bilsteins would come with uprated dampers too? Just springs is probably not going to be enough for me with the standard sport suspension. Saying that I havent even driven the car yet and I said the same thinf about the Twingo! Im sure I read somewhere though the...
This reminds me of 106 rallye owners gushing about how much lighter they are than gti's........when its just the same stuff taken out of it as you can to do a gti. I agree. Just get a 172. Sunroofed cars are a pain in the ass!!
Thanks for the replies! I had Bilstein B8's on the old saxo are these similar in any way (apart from them being coilovers) the b8's were a little stiff imo for the road but then a saxo and clio are two very different cars.
Just waiting on the call....hopefully won't be a bag of s**t when I go...
Hi,
Should hopefully be getting a 172 either today or at least very soon!
I've previously owned various saxo/106's and have also owned a Twingo 133 (sport) which I loved but was ultimately a bit slow. Thought the suspension on track was pretty perfect if im honest and was also very comfortable...
