Yeah I need to do my lower grilles as doing the main one made such a difference!
One more tip. I know people say dont paint when its raining but seeing as we dont have extractors is sort of a dust preventative as it cleans the air so to speak. All my spraying was done under my car port.
Also...
I forgot to mention I then wet sanded it a few days after to make sure it was fully dry with very fine wet n dry (think I used 2500) I then polished it by hand.
Its been a learning job. My bullets were the first and they are nice but dont have enough lacquer on. My badges are good but again...
Generally yeah two or three. I've done it so much now I can usually do it in two with no runs.
I sprayed my old 106 GTIusing more or less the same method as you have been using before but the results although good were never great as the lacquer never seemed to "work" and would most likely...
I never flat back paint. I've found the best way I have found when painting with cans is to let the primer dry and then sand then to spray the colour wait 5-10 mins and then go straight over with 4 coats of lacquer. Seems to work best that way.
Did you have to remove arch liners to fit the splitter or at least undo them as I noticed under my bumper doesnt feel smooth so im guessing they attach to it?
Have you driven it since you stripped it? I took out the spare wheel on mine once and immediately noticed the difference so I can imagine ripping out a full interior would be awesome (if loud) especially at low revs.
Anyone have these with the sliders on? I want to get one to cure the 172s horrid driving position. Also how would I use a normal seatbelt with it? Do they come off the orginal seat?
Nah its called a sensiblehead lol
You can look at it two ways..
Its expensive and a waste of money..
Or think "you know what compared to a supercar this thing makes great financial sense"
As with anything your opinions are shaped by whatever position you are in at the given time. Hence why I...
I like them but F me they cost a fortune! Bet them wheels and tyres cost you a bomb! That and diesel powered BMW's are as fast as these nowadsys and get waaaay better mpg.
Ive managed to get it reasonably comfy after constant adjustments the only fault now is im a little closer to the pedals than I'd like and the top of my back is slightly forward but F it. Least managed to get the tyres to squeel without fallingout the seat for a change!
The only things stopping me getting a 200 is gearboxes, mpg and more money for little extra performance else I would have one. Even the recaros are beter than standard 172 leather seats for comfort!
Thanks
No as I heard they were vibration dampers...I still think the seat wouldnt offer the right support. Its annoying as I could spend a few hundred quid and bestuck with aftermarket seats that are still no good without me trying some first
Its really effing me off now. Im tempted to chop it in for something else. Im not fat nor thin im if average height too so don't get why they made these seats so shitty and unsupportive. I can't even tell why im not comfy its like all things can never be right (wheel, arms, pedals, back) Im...
So its not been great lately. Interior fans decided to pack in and the CD player likes to come up with "CD ERR"
Oh and some little cuntwhore decided to key everyone in our neighbourhoods cars last night which is always nice! Everyone is out for blood! Personally if I find the b**ch I'd leave...
Ive seen this online. The odd thing is its doing it randomly. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesnt. Also no one with this problem mentioned the coolant light on the dash (that I could see)
Okay this is weird. Was parked up with ignition om and the fans came on and seem to be working on and off when I use them (sometimes work a few times out of 10 they dont) the coolant warning light is still lit up on thr dash though even when they are working.
I had a coolant change a few weeks...
