i was thinking white cage actually, but still undecided! its white at the mo, but needs a powdercoat anyway like. hmmmm decisions!!
fred - i know mate, looks toss lol. i have plans for something a lot neater, just...
not quite, these wheels are only on temporarily like, plate is going back to original one for now, as previous owner wants his private one back. only had the car 6 months lol!
got a full cup roll cage to go in, bit of paint on sills where they have been painted black, erm not sure what else...
heatsheild was a tenner ;)
been after one second hand for ages, and found a bargain in the end! I was gonna make one from alloy, but would rather have the proper one!
it will heat ur brake fluid up without one, id get one on asap mate!
cars going for MOT tomorrow. then just needs taxing...
worst answer ever lol
"the cheaper the better"
dont spend money tuning the 1.8, a standard 2.0 engine in your mk1 will be quicker than a 172 in most cases ;) and to buy one and fit it will probably work out cheaper than spending money tuning the 1.8!
no headwork, but this was a strong engine in the first place!
even without the cams, map, manifold, etc it still ran 14.3 1/4 mile!
most 2.0's with the same mods will be around the 170-180hp mark! the 2ltrs respond to mods much better than the 1.8's :)
yeh them ones!
i'll have another go tomorrow mate cheers, was pissing it down, and getting dark so iv left the mofo! was stressing me!
Just getting the remaining bolt out thats the potential problem!
Jesus
great sleeper, ace engine, lots of fun! not for the faint hearted or unexperianced drivers!
dont want it? cant handle it? dont buy it! ;)
I do remember seeing this half built actually! at RTOC day in 2004 i think!
attempted to change pads today on the coupe!
tried undoing the caliper bolts to get the naff pads out and both as soft as crap! edges rounded off in no time
Tried hammering a smaller socket on, and mole grips with no luck!
any ideas what I can do other than chopping the end of the bolt off...
^^ what he said! apparently bloke was well impressed with the clio's power!
dont forget most 2.0 valver's will run well under 15 sec 1/4 mile with breathing mods and some weight out :)
nova was defo a 2.0! altho an 8v i 'think'!
raced a 16v one later and was pretty much even!
just realised this morning i missed some footage off, but the old classic saxo vs nana (with just exhaust/decat) vid here:
http://homepages.nildram.co.uk/~cadams/videos/cliovsvts.wmv
well the nana is quick, but the white un is just a bit quicker lol!
its being unleashed back on the road in the next couple of weeks, so might see some more footage of it at some oint soon!
not 100% sure on cup, r-sport, exhaust, decat, filter, and stripped i think!
