I have a combo of ds2500 fronts and ferodo ds on rears works perfectly for me, was sold these pads with brembo hc disks as package from local motor factors.
I get a rumbling also mine is at approx 35 mph and 85mph (Private road) but have replaced all bearings and driveshafts etc ideas anyone or is it possibly road noise?? Anyone had the same ? the only part on front end rebuild I missed was the mani- down pipe join.. is vibration poss from this...

The knocking at -'c if on park on mine was play in the inner rack end, their is a little plastic collar/bush on the tread on 1 side between rack end and tread onto rack.
what size wheels you running? if 16'' id stick with the contisports. I highly rate pe2s tho in a 15 out lasted by far (if not double) 15 avons zv's had some very grippy but died after about 9 months. So much that I just had 4x pe2's fitted for 216.
Dirty battery terminal or broken large wire try using 1 jump cable from batt to starter to check? Also check spade connector for exciter wire on starter prob loose. Thats it only 2 wires on starter.
