sounds like engine mount could have moved to me making linkage position slightly different, try moving the drivers mount as far forward as poss with dogbone disconnected then bar the engine back to refit db bolt? If not proberly 3rd gear syncro knackered.

Friend of mine has put tiny spot weld on rear clamp that could be ground off to remove exhaust at any time. He swears his standard has given him no problems because its the clamp coming loose that increaeses movement and inturn snaps the exhaust eventually!

Yep above works careful of the air con pipes when levering engine forwards using turret and bar to do so. Do undo the dogbone and adjust as said above leaving this to connect up last you will need to lever the engine to get bottom bolt back in dogbone if tension ,positioned correctly. Any more...
