Yeah - it's still not good unfortunately. One of directors here is on satellite broadband as he too lives out in the sticks. It's fine for his document transfer and system access - but pretty much useless for his kids when they were online with the XBox. But given what satellite broadband...
Legend m8. I'm on early finish today, but the iMac had just about finished installing by the time I left.
I got the dmg file that you uploaded burnt via an iso using Nero and put that into the Mac. Prepped the new 2TB drive (again) then proceeded with the install. Christ - how long does that...
It hangs with one second to go on the Yosemite installation - in particular not being able to contact a specific /var folder and some link to an apple.com URL.
I'm thinking it might not actually be Yosemite compatible. No worries - I can go into the Purchases section of the App Store and...
Following these steps so far - seems to be going ok (for now)

Hi Jack,
Shouldn't be a problem - but I'm getting more confounded by the minute! :)
I've borrowed my girlfriend's MBP to download the Yosemite image - which I've now got and can see in the Apps folder. However, it has no optical drive, so my logic was to chuck it onto a USB stick, put that onto...
Right - finally got around to having a dabble at this.
All I get off the iMac is a flashing folder and question mark. It's connected to the same switch that we WDS all of our PCs from - so it's definitely an active connection and can access the internet. I suspect that the Mac can't use this...
Good stuff Andy!
I guess like you say, to be truly believable - the resources required would be vast and very expensive - probably nothing like the single studio I mentioned earlier!
If they did get to the stage of a purely generated actor in a believable 'world' - I'd guess a whole stream of...
Frustrates the hell out of me with bad design like this. I know they aren't a key structural component - but the grub screws are made of cheese.
Why oh why.....!?
Very impressive!
It actually led onto a discussion in the office here. If a simple apartment looks that good now - what about in a generation's time? Could we conceivably have it where ALL soap operas, documentaries and films could be purely green-screened and real actors simply perform on/in a...
No, no, nope! That certainly doesn't need any spacer action going on there. The proportion and 'fit' of the wheels in the arches looks spot-on to me. I'm never a fan of seeing the outer rim of tyre stick out beyond the bodywork on any car. What you have above is just fine.
Do you really need a gaming laptop though?
They are massively compromised against the likes of a desktop. Get a decent one and they are outclassed in a very short space of time. Again, get a decent one, and its on par with the USS Nimitz aircraft carrier in terms of weight and size. Finish that...
Not quite! Instagib was the game mode where everyone got what appeared to be a shock rifle and no other weapon.
Except that shock rifle provided one shot kills. No damage - simply disintegration! :P
The bodywork is top notch - you have to give him that....

Loved Port Valdez on BC2 myself - my favourite map in that game. The very start of that map was epic - be it defending or attacking.
I know where you're coming from there - I still have a dabble against bots on that map every now an then, but with the low-gravity modifier added :)
Have you...
I was going to put the El Alamein map from the original Battlefield 1942 in here. It's still a very good, large map but in hindsight is far too aircraft-centric. Get a good couple of flyers on there and they can rinse the opposition.
Addicted - the rooftop map on SoF2 that was in both the demo...
What's yours? Any platform, any game. What map when loading gets you thinking of what to do the minute the game launches?
Maybe you have a favourite vantage point or a set sequence that often works in your favour - should the map be on an RTS game, for example. The same could also be said about...
You've got a hell of a lot more patience than me, Andy! I just started the warchief stuff and got so close to killing one before I finally died, that I just immediately switched the game off and played something else. The prospect of pressing X, X, X, X, X, X, X, X, X, quick Y&B, X, Y, X, X, Y...
Well my original 360 pad almost met that Input Graveyard in the Sky earlier! I never loose it badly either - but this just tips me over the edge. I'm constantly feeling like I'm two or three processes ahead as to what's happening on the screen and I don't think I've ever used the 'Y' button so...
Same here m8. Trying to ignore most of the niggles and persevere with it! Reverting as much as possible to the classic mode has helped tremendously - as has bypassing the account sign-in at the start and stuff.
D.
10 hours in an I'm a midge's dick from uninstalling it.
My god is it a bloody frustrating game to play!
Not sure I'll have the patience to get anywhere near the end, I reckon.
