The thing is, a novice will feel the difference when changing his suspension, and fitting sticky tyres. He will feel the difference and comfort when he sits in his bucket seats.
What he won't feel or see a difference in, will be the expensive brakes he just spent a small fortune on.
Arrogant...
The OP can go and do whatever he wants, as Roy said, it's his own cash.
However, I am that tuition gang, pinky. Phil is right with the technical shizzle. The thing is, it matters not when you are out on track. This is because the average trackday driver will lose more time (vs the perfect lap...
Cheers for the input guys.
If I'm honest, I would prefer a head unit with a rear Aux, just so it keeps the car nice and tidy. It would bug me if there were visable wires.
I need a head unit for the new car, and as I know nothing about head units I thought I would ask on here.
I don't want to spend too much at all really, I'm not after amazing sound or for it to play dvds. All I really want is for it to have an AUX port in the rear (for the ipod). I don't really...
And a bit of weight saving will do the same right? You clearly haven't read through the thread properly have you.
The guy isn't even going to do trackdays, so it's even more of a waste of money.
How much should I be paying for one of these?
Had a look on Egay and they seem to be going for well over £50.
I thought it was a little steep to be honest, but thought I would ask on here.
There is a thread on the discs and pads toward the bottom of this sections page.
Buy the rear discs from Renault, they are the cheapest and come with the bearings pressed in.
LOL, who cares?
The fact is, the average trackday driver on here would benefit more from £500 on trackdays and tuition, than on some brakes that the car already has.
They are on my Rallye because the standard brakes are poo, and the 4 pots are a worthwhile upgrade. On the Clio, they are simply...
I have hi-spec's on my Rallye. Awesome brakes! Not had an issue with quality at all. Pads are cheap and there is a variety available. Discs are a little more than a 1*2, but nothing mental.
I would use them again, for sure.
Never thought of that Danny.
Sammy, if it is glazed pads, they will sort themselves out over a week or so. If they don't, it would be a good indication that it's what Danny said.
Will, lol, why would I need to gaurantee it? From my past experience, Colin McRea would struggle to warp the discs...
Because it is a lot harder than people think. Braking late into a roudabout on a rainy isn't going to warp his discs.
There is a far greater chance that his pissy cheap Mintex pads have taken offence to a quick thrash, and have glazed.
I very much doubt that you have warped a disc.
Chances are, you have glazed your pads. How long have you had the problem? Did you notice it after giving the car some stick?
You say that the front brakes haven't been on for long, what pads did you buy?
Cheers, I'll have a go when I get back and pick it up.
I had the same issue with the Rallye when we bought that. Obviously the Rallye is a lot older and has a solid paint, so it was easy to sort.
I have just bought a Clio dci65 from a very good friend of mine, and I need a little advice.
Now, my friend was never one for cleaning the car very often, let alone spending time with any polish or wax. And as such, the paint is, well a little past it's best. It hs started to go a little...
