FAO anyone using newsgroups and being throttled by isp...

pipex aren't going anywhere. the company i work for is owned by them, although we don't use thr same tactics as they do as we are more aimed at businesses and more tech savvie home users, plus we charge a lot more per month than pipex do, but our contracts are monthly.

FAO anyone using newsgroups and being throttled by isp...

you signed up, you should have read the terms and conditions and done your research first. you get what you pay for. buy from a "cheap" provider who use the 'pile it high, sell it cheap' mentality, and you get stung. bt central's don't come cheap, and any isp who sells at bargain prices can't...

Solwise Homeplugs - ethernet over power lines

what is your point? the fact one says 54mbps and the other says 85mbps ? it's because it also has an ethernet port, so the wireless part works at 54mbps and the wired part works at 85mbps. it's for my customer to browse the web, the speed of the device isn't really an issue.

    Apple TV

there's a reason why apple can't offer the same in the uk store as they can in the US store. basically companies like C4 show series like prison break, lost, etc. C4 have paid a fee to have exclusive rights to screen those tv shows in the UK. If the tv show makers were to allow apple to...

    Dell UltraSharp monitor

personally i think it was worth paying the extra, the 24" straight infront of you just looks enormous, and in the future u could always add another 24" :D the 24" also has some extra stuff that the 20" doesn't. i can't remember exactly, but it has an extra input, and a card reader on the side.

    I think I just got myself a sat-nav bargain?!!! From Sainsbury's

a friend of a friend got one for xmas and didn't want it. dunno why they didn't just put it on ebay, but when i went to their house i didn't even see a computer there. it was still sealed and they showed me the reciept, so i've no reason to think it's dodgy.

    I think I just got myself a sat-nav bargain?!!! From Sainsbury's

i've been playing with my 510 a bit last night and today and the bluetooth functions are great, and the volume of the voice instructions go really really loud. if you bought from the shops then u should have got the 710, they are going for the same price as the 510 now for some reason.
