right, i have a little technical hitch.
i accidentally ordered the wrong hosting package for somebody and now they need asp support and the package doesn't have that.
anyway, i have masses of webspace on my own webhosting package.
basically what i want to do is direct www.myclientssite.com to...
ok, as far as i know with these deals you have forced advertising, that's how they make their money, the service will force you to watch adverts.
i'm sure there will be a workaround/hack though.
i am just installing ubuntu onto one of my machines for a play.
which dists. are other people using? i would be interested to hear peoples experiences and reasons for preference of one over another.
cheers.
how about you leave it and try later?
i don't see the point in threads like this.
step away from your keyboard, there is a real world outside with real people to talk to.
you need to convert back to the goat again and get the coathanger and open the door which leads you to a magic potion which you need to take to turn you into a helicopter and fly over the sewer system and feed the magic squirrels.
23gig is f**k all.
i did 200gb a month or so back and if i was a paying customer (i obviously get it free cos i work for the company) then i would have had no problems as most of that was downloaded off peak.
used pixmania a few times and 2 times the items have turned up and not worked, and because they are in france it's a hassle sending stuff back and forwards.
nildram.
you'll pay for it though. more expensive that the others u are considering, but we are all english and don't have any of this tier'ed tech support rubbish.
all plusnet's customers left cos they fucked them off with the traffic shaping lol.
why would you want to go with a company that traffic shapes at any time of the day? the isp i work for has a 50gb on peak limit, unlimited off peak between midnight and 8am, and no traffic shaping :)
do an nslookup and see where hi5 resolves to. my results below, i use open dns. might be an issue with telewest's dns servers, might be a routing issue.
