Right, a little update.
This weekend was the Nurburgring trip, and what an awesome time we had, Weather wasn't brill, but was good enough on days to get some good dry lapping in.
I fund the Rallye a different beast to the 182 I took last year, and it took a few laps to get used to it and start...
I very much doubt you have warpped discs, not unless your name is Lewis Hamilton. Probs just needs new pads. Have you measured the thickness of the discs to see if they are worn to limits?
With the atb you can go bigger and still have very useable power.
More power is something we will look at after this year. We are thinking of stripping the engine, high comp pistons, new cams, ecu and some cheeky itb's.
It's such good fun to drive, the ATB works really well and gives immense grip in the corners.
That and I just love the old style look of the S1. Although it does need a bit of tlc, bumpers need re-painting.
Update time.......
Well after the alternator, manifold and radiator came off, the engine got a bit of a clean.
Before
After
Then the manifold, alternator and and new radiator got fitted and the front end put back on.
We then filled the radiator and gave it a bleed, this heated up...
Re: One Year on & £**** spent
He just bought a brand new one yet, infact I dont think he has used this one yet.
I'm sure if you threw him a couple of quid and a box of beer he would do it.
Are you planning on getting it done pre 'ring?
I had mine tracked straight away, had no issues since.
I would always recommend getting the tracking done after changing suspension components. Cars might not have the same 'white-lining' affect that I got, but you could end up scrubbing tyres off uber quick.
I had a quick search but can't seem to find a good place to buy ball joints for my 182.
Can anyone give me a link to a good place or a part number/size please.
Saw some on ebay for £30, f*uck that for a ball joint.
I would imagine so. Faulkner would probably do some custom one.
Have a chat with them, see what they say.
Do you know the spring rate of the springs you have got?
It wont be brakes.
Lift your bonnet, grab the rear of the engine and roll it forward. If it moves around too much, then it will be your upper mount.
My money is on the lower gearbox one though, it's the usual one to need changing first.
