Check the yellow clips that go on to the injectors - one of mine popped off and it was running on 3 cylinders - wasnt fast and sounded waft. Distinct popping sound just like you describe.

BB tuning will charge over £500 for head/manfold gasketts etc. Including fitting and VAT I thought mine had gone but luckily a minor electrical fault meant it didnt cost me squat to fix. I stand corrected about re-surfacing the head though! But fcuk it, while its off get Ben to make it better!
