I got braided lines, ferrodo ds2500 pads and brembo HC discs (cheaper than OE discs). Whole package cost about £200. Slight improvement in normal use, but they are far more resistent to fade and you can beat on them much longer then the OE setup.
I wouldn't both spending £££ on the rear, stick...
I take you are aware that VM have implemented traffic management? This is effective between 4 and 12 in the evenings and will be activated depending on the package you are on and how much you download. Perhaps this is what you are seeing?
As a side note, I've had NTL/VM broadband since it was...
2x 512MB matched modules, as far as I know the fastest DDR memory ever made. Perfect for overclocking a DDR system.

Seems expensive. If you are going to a main dealer take a few precautions. Clarify with them what they are going to be doing, as most don't know what the service schedule for the RS is. Mark with a pen all the filters that will be changed, as invariably they won't bother changing filters and...
Sounds like they've been ripped off then! I'm not sure how you could possibly spend £900 on a special "high res" screen :S It's just a strip of cloth/fabric at the end of the day which you could make yourself for peanuts. Given that you can get decent projectors these days for £600, one at...
I would disagree! Mine is only 800 lumens and it gives strong vibrant pictures. Typically home cinema projectors do not have a high lumen output as usually you watch them in a dark room, and a lower lumen output can result in improved contrast. In fact, Sanyo have a "Theatre Black" mode which...
I've had a Sanyo Z3 now for a couple of years, very impressed. I have it setup with a 77" screen. Great picture quality, and can do 720p to boot. Ideally you do need to have the room dark though. Even with a high lumen output ambient light is going to kill the contrast. For movies there is no...
Change at 2k and cruise at about 2.8-3.2k (45-50). That aside, I made various other changes to the way I drive and it's really paying off. I'm up from 30mpg on the same route, which saves me £70 a month not to mention brakes and tyres :) Might as well save them for a more interesting bit of road.
If I drive carefully, I get 42-45mpg on my drive to work which is a mix of dual carriage way and town. I have tried both V-Power and Sansburies super and there was zero difference economy or performance wise, so I stick with sainsburies which is £4 a tank cheaper.
The chipsaway guy came out to look at key damage to my car. Nice bloke, but he said that it was too deep to repair and would need a respray. £220 for 2 panels. It seems like a reasonable price, but I'm always worried about respays as the quality varies a lot. Has anyone used chipsaway in the...
The thought had crossed my mind when I looked at how much I've spent on petrol. However, I've made some simple alterations to the way I drive. These days I get 43mpg on my daily drive to work, up from 29, not to mention the money I'm saving on brakes and tyres. 12,000 miles is a lot though. What...
DS2500s here and they do stand up better to fade.
I had similar issues when I started trackdays last year, the brakes faded very quickly. What I was told to do was brake earlier and progressively, rather than being late and aggressive. This is apparently better as the car is more settled going...
These 2 were part of a set of 4 I purchased from a member on here. They've never been on my car and they are surplus to requirement.

I might consider offers ;)
You only had it for 20 minutes, was it warmed up properly? They should rev to 7200 and if you couldn't then the oil wasn't up to temp, and the ECU was imposing a lowered rev limit. AFAIK the ECU also restricts the power output of the engine until properly warmed up. I don't know if the 172 is...
I got 50mpg no problem from my 1.2 16v. They are also a bit cheaper than the dci so do the sums and see what it's worth to you. A remap on the dci might be a good option though.
Correct! The 2800XP has a 333Mhz bus. You would be limited to 266Mhz memory speed if you have the old 512MB in. The Crucial stuff is generally good quality though so you could force the old module to run at a faster speed in the bios, I bet it would work.
Just noticed your other thread. Some Athlon XP platforms support dual channel, but it's generally pointless unless you are also running onboard graphics. Try and have memory that matches the bus speed of the processor though, so for a 333Mhz bus speed use 333Mhz (or better) memory.
No, in most cases you can use faster ram than required. It will simply run at a slower speed. If you buy from Crucial you can use their memory selector tool and they will guarantee compatibility.
What motherboard and processor do you have? If you are installing a second stick you may have the...
The Cup has a smaller compressor than the "full fat" car. I do sometimes wish it had stronger air con but it's better than nothing. If you are on the market be sure to look at the Trophy as well. It's the same as a Cup except with Recarros as standard and fancy suspension.
Welcome,
Reliability is ok, watch out for electrics. You might want to check everything is working before you drive away!
But the most important advice is avoid dealerships like the plague. Most are clueless as it is but added to that most don't seem to know anything about the RS range at all.
If you imported a US copy then I don't see why it wouldn't work. You would need to fiddle with the PS2 to play the disc though. I don't know a lot about that stuff but I did see a kit that allowed you to play copies and imports without opening the unit itself.
However the HD mode in GT4 isn't...
Yep the 182 Cup has all of the "Cup Pack" features, but has a poverty spec interior to shave off a few KGs. It does retain cruise control. They are also about £1000 cheaper so if you aren't worried about toys then it could be for you.
I dunno, the circuit is only 1.4 miles long. Plus there's a long uphill straight which should have favoured the torquier VXR. On paper the 197 looks to be the underdog.
