Its just pressed in, get a set of stilsons round it and twist it out..
They do perish (I had one go on an old 19 of mine), just pull it out, and put a new one in..
btw - I got a new one from B&Q, cheaper than Renault! :D

Remove the covers yourself, thats what takes all the bloody time!
I stripped mine down (removed the covers, alt belt, etc) and my local garage charged me £15 to change the belt, fit a new tensioner etc..

No chance of damaging the car, but it may well not work.
Theres about 8 versions of the ECU for F type engines, and theyre not all interchangeable. I know as I had a chipped ECU that worked fine on one 19 but wont fire up the engine in my other 19.. Give it a go. If it fires your in business...
