Let me know how you get on with the ducting, I need some too!
I emailed them and they said to contact the place I got it from - only they could order it from PiperX.
Erm...that I know of - no.
Alpines do the same thing.
All you can do is encode to a single mp3 track - of course then you cant jump between songs - expect if you know the correct time offset and use fast forward a lot! lol
just link a wire from your +ve to the remote turn on.
That will make the amp stay on all the time - usefull for testing stuff - dont leave it like that!
Then all you need to worry about is that the +ve and -ve wires are ok.
Do you have a volt metre? Use that to check you have power. Put it...
All the amps Ive ever seen dont light up the powel led until the remote wire is active - i.e. the HU has been switched on.
So check if your amp led goes off when you cut the power to the hu by turning off the unit itself or the ignition.
Other than that, everything sounds ok. You wouldnt get...
Follow the bonnet release cable. You can put the power cable through with it if you just cut the grommet a little bit.
As for the seatbelt bolt, just use a normal socket set. Go and buy the bit from halfords, thats what I did - my normal bits werent big enough.
Cheap RCA leads can also cause this - or at least not stop it!
If you do a quick search on google, you can find a flowchart to diagnose interference. Basically you just need to unplug the RCA leads from the amp and see if you still get noise.
If you do, you know its getting into the amp...
Yes thats the bolt to use. Youll need a ring with a 10mm hole.
I recommend finding a big washer to put the ring on top of because the hole in the black bar is pretty big. So it goes black bar -> washer -> cable ring -> bolt.
As for the wires, you run them pretty much along the join...
Mine has one and im having it replaced tomorrow because it kinda almost snapped off.
Thats on a 172 Mk2 btw.
Well, they called it a knock sensor anyway. Its just up and to the right of the oil filter.
They said it was to keep the car quiet (not lumpy) or something :-/
I understand that capacitor wise, they recommend 0.5 farads for every 500watts RMS of power.
Youre spot on about the rms/ohm values. Look for the 4ohm ones because thats what your speakers will be. If youre going to be running a sub off channels 3+4, look for the bridged values too. They wont...
I was thinking about getting another one because some cat/tiger/lion thing has taken a liking to mine and started eating it! Not sure Ill bother if its hassle to fit them.
Theyre too small. Not sure what they used as the template but it was all wrong!!!
Oh and im allowed to comment like that because I got mine ages ago when they first came out :)
Im tempted to go for some of the real renault ones instead now.
One thing I will say, theyve lasted well. I went...
Just above and to the right of the oil filter, there is a thingy that connects to the engine with a couple of wires coming out of it. Mine has kinda snapped off from its metal holder/securing device and it just dangling there by what I guess is the wire inside of it.
Anyone know what it is...
I agree about the supressor thing. I would prefer to fix the problem rather than just work-around it.
Im going to go jack the car up again in a bit and see if I can see any other earth straps anywhere. The one from the battery is fine. Anyone know where the others are?! There must be one where...
For no apparent reason, Ive started to get engine noise coming through my speakers. Ive treble checked all the stereo wires and theyre perfect.... oh and of course theyre no different to when it was working just fine!
All Ive done is take my car into renault to be serviced.
Are there any...
Ok, but the tweeter has an in-line capacitor. Thats pretty much the same thing, only obviously not as good because the woofer is still pumping out the full range.
Im sure they must be other cheap, so called component speakers, that use the same sort of setup? Ive as set of co-ax speakers in...
Why are the factory fit front speakers not already classed as components?
I mean, the tweeter is separate from the woofer...isnt that, by definition, a component set?
