If its anything like all the other clios, just stick a screwdriver in the little hole(s) between the upper (removable) and lower (fixed) parts. It just comes apart!
That is of course assuming youre talking about the black metal cage it lives in and not the actual silver lid of the ecu
No, the alarm never goes off.
If you close the door, alarm it and then unlock + open it again (because you left something in the car by accient), the alarm doesnt go off instantly - does it? It doesnt on mine. It goes off after a few seconds. Before that happens - i.e. as soon as you unlock +...
OMG!!! more people with the same problem as me!
I thought I was the only one!
There is any easy way around this...
Even within the one minute time frame, you can open the door without the alarm going off if you arm the system again with the door open and then disarm it.
When you arm it...
Erm... its hard to say really. Like all things, you get used to them after a while. It doesnt feel bad if that helps!
It was fitted at millway racing. I had to drive 120 miles to get there - hence why Id love it if PE could talk to dastek about becoming approved fitters. They wouldnt have much...
Thats actually from a shop here in chelmsford!
You can order them online though from http://www.caraudiosecurity.comwww.caraudiosecurity.com
Youll need a KCE-840B (controller) and a KWE-845E (interface lead)
Heres a more direct link for you...
Thats cool but Ive already got the chip. Id just like it updated due to new mods. There arent many (any) local garages that can do it. Would be great if you could! ;)
Ive got xr525s in the rear of my car and some MBQuart psc213s in the front.
To be honest mate, having heard/got both, go for MBQuart up front. I think youll like the sound of them more than the JL Audio ones.
With a name like that, its hard to tell if youre being serious or not!
If you are, I apologise and hope you can tell me (and the other guy) where we can get some from! Can we even get it from Renault?!
What do they use to stick the door panels on with on the Mk2 172s?
Its sticky as hell (doesnt ever dry - so its not silicon) and I guess makes a waterproof seal as there is no clear plastic on the door - as there has been on other cars ive taken apart.
Anyway, for one reason or another, Ive...
The viper ducting runs from the viper to the bottom grill.
To get it there I removed the std pipe completely and just unscrewed/moved the the plastic valve/gate. Its now sitting where you see it in the top pic! All the pipes are still attached to it so I dont get any hissing from it not being...
Ive had to return to the standard pipe which will do for now. I cant stand the chicken noise my engine makes when I have the breather filter on!
Seems to be working just fine so Ill stick with it.
oooh, it just so happens I got one of those little dremel professional thingys the other day when I was in B&Q. That should do the job! Ill bring it with me Essex_Lad ;)
rich172, this is what that pipe has at the opposite end.

Obviously its not where its supposed to be in the above pic! lol
This is looking through that plastic bit - you can see the valve / gate type thing that gets...
Yes Ive removed the second section of pipe thats fixed onto the car via a gold coloured metal bracket.
To get at it, you must (I think) remove the wheel arch liner. Taking the bumper off will probably do the same but I think the arch liner is a bit easier! lol
The lower vents on the arch...
Ive not done it to mine, but I have to a friends. Id rather keep the leather than have cold hands on an alloy one!
Molegrips is the only way to do it without destroying it.
Most people tell you to take a hacksaw to it!
