what do ppl think of the K-Tec stealth (new one) system? thinkin of getting thi and fitting it myself.

well aware the exhaust system is one of the weakest parts on the 172 but was just wondering how long most ppl have had their car before the zaust has fallen off?? iv done nearly 32k miles and the car is 4 years old...shold i be thinking about gettin a SS system yet?

iv just spent hours trying to fix my horn mate, and its a right nightmare.! i fitted a sparco wheel and when fitting the horn the wires shorted and melted all the way to the plastic that the wheel mounts on. took it all apart and had to solder new wire on. dont know if your fault is as serious...

so did you have a sparco wheel as well then and how did you wire it up down there anyway? is it working ok?

so what do you reckon i should do?? cant see where it wold be shorting although there is a bit of metal the is in the horn housing which i think touches the metal of the wheel when installed...Can you pass an MOT without your horn working?

no the wire that was originally there before the new wheel has cooked along with the rest!

looks proper good andy. ur pipe looks lot bigger than mine - wasnt sure how big to go, its such a tight fit. (btw did u spray ur wheels or are they anthracite?)

cheers guys. got the piping from Venair, and the ram pipe off ebay (regal motorsports i think). sprayed the ram pipe black so it doesnt stick out like a sore thumb! was pretty simple job actually...had to take the bumper off tho....

hmmmm...so there is no way of making sure it stays off? thats wierd. does it not actually affect the car driving with it on?? i will still prob get one (is it really 5-6bhp gain tho?!)

does the YS decat for 172 Cup come with new bolts and gasket etc.????? really thinking about getting one - is the whole issue with the emmisions light coming on a big problem (some ppl say it does sum say it doesnt..??)

yeh oxford definately isnt car friendly! iv been toying wiv the idea of taking my motor back home and leaving it there but just love driving it way too much (plus im not a huge fan of gettin a bus at half 7 in the morning!) you got any pics of your car on here rich?

Cheers mate, i try and keep it lookin tidy but where i live i have to park on the side of the road and have just found a dent in the rear 3 quarter panel (looks like sum mug has bashed it with their bike or something!). Im doing motorsport tech. so was at gypo lane all last year...really pissed...

the 172 Cup with LY53 plate is mine, im up at wheatley a few times a week, and dont have a permit so have to park at the bottom of the hill.(can sympathise with moans about engineering block moving from gipsy lane - i live off cowley road so its a real pain in the arse)...

will the airbag light come on if i take off the oe steering wheel and replace with a different one? can it be turned off or will i have to take it to a reno garage.?? i have a diagnostic tool which will read and clear faults and turn off the MIL light (obviously not as good as a proper Renault...

problem solved! got a OBD2 diagnostic tool other day, plugged it into the car and cleared the fault and now shes running fine! it was like the car was in a safe mode or something!...

thought maybe something to do with fitting induction kit - maybe crap is getting into the throttle housing?? altho my mate said his corsa did this before and he had to get a new ECU...

hi mate. yes i had the problem fixed - cost £50 for throttle potentiometer and lots for labour! however i have now had the car running for couple weeks and its doing the same thing again!!

there r loads of threads on this - try searching cold air feeds. (someone should put a post up on the guide section for this..........)

does anyone know if you have to unlock Orange mobiles beacuase iv heard they will work regardless of other network sims being used.....is this correct or do u still need to unlock them??? cheeeeers
